Purchased a 2019 Ram 1500 Laramie about a month ago. I haven’t been able to use the navigation for my area (Delaware). It has the previous owner information still there and have found a way to delete his personal data and get a map for my area.
I just ordered a map update.
My question is: will the map update fix this ?
If not where do I go?

You have Android Auto and Car Play, use your phone for maps. It is up to date (where update software you ordered is already out of date my months to a year), doesn't get stuck in user profiles, and in my opinion just superior to factory maps.

Not sure if your update will fix, radio may be tied to Uconnect account former owner had and that may be hanging things up. Contact Uconnect service and ask about impact of former owner account.

If you spend any time reading threads here at Ram Forum, you will learn the factory NAV in Uconnect is horrible.

I wasted time and energy making sure it was included with my truck when new, now I don't have much use for it.

I bought a bracket to hold a tablet in front of the 8.4C Uconnect, I plan to use the NAV function on the tablet, Google Maps.

The Uconnect NAV always chooses the most indirect route filled with worst start/stop gas guzzling route possible.

If you live in or visit a busy urban center, it will constantly interrupt the NAV function with false warnings of disabled vehicles.

These interruptions defeat the NAV function until you hit the onscreen OK button. Now it's distracting you from driving safely. POS!

I drove to Sarnia Ontario last fall, the NAV spent the entire travel time trying to convince me to get off the 401 onto secondary roads that would have wasted lots of time.

I planned the route, ignored the NAV instructions on the way out and switched to an old style stand alone GPS for the return trip.
