No do not mix use proper mopar OAT for your truck. You can buy full strength concentrate that U mix 50/50 with distilled water or 50:50 premixed. U can buy online or from dealer. Do not mix any with stuff U can buy that says universal etc bad idea.Is there anything else that can be used besides the mopar 10 year 150k?
No no noGuy at oreillys suggested this zerex for my 5.7 1500
Its a 2019 ram 1500 bighorn 5.7 and I have zero idea what coolant was in it when I got it and im the second owner. No do not mix use proper mopar OAT for your truck. Also helps to know if your 2019 is a 5th Gen or Classic.
Further; test. In AM, pop hood. Start your truck. Wait bout 3 min than turn on AC MAX. Fan should in small period of TIME spool up to full speed. The E fans on the 5th gen trucks are electric 850 Watt fans. If fan does not spool up after a bit then U know some type of fan issue.
U also need check RAD when cold insure full and also overflow bottle to the left as U look at nose of truck check dipstick. Has 2 readings cold and hot.
Insure rad cap put back on all the way.
If none of the above helps than U need to get professionally diagnosed.
All IMHO.
So i got two gallons of distilled from wally world how much should i use? I think now ill take it in. I don’t want to ruin my truck. But i gotta drive it to a shopOnly OAT coolant , and distilled water. Do not let anyone try to sell you different universal on size fits all. This can led to major problems.

Im in florida so freezing is not a concern i really dont want to F this up. Especially after reading and hearing that I need a certain type of coolantThere are many guys with high-performance applications and people who live in states that never freeze who don’t even use coolant, just straight water. You can put as much water as you need to fill the system, it’s just going to throw off your ratio a bit when you need to add coolant back in if you are in a place that does freeze.
If you put 2 gallons of water in, then you get your new coolant and you can only get half a gallon in, your ratio is going to be off with too much water. Then you just have to drain some of your mixture out and refill with just the coolant.
That’s why I always buy concentrate instead of 50-50, had a couple situations were in an emergency I had to use water, once I did that it’s impossible to get back to a 50-50 total mixture when I’m putting 50-50 in it when I also have that pure water in there.

Thank youMrblonde I’m no professional mechanic but that pic you posted of the dipstick in your expansion tank looks pretty sketchy. Lots of crud on the stick. I have a 2018 and my dipstick looks like pinkish water without and semi-solids clinging to it. The crud is not good and may be signs of trouble. I’d highly suggest taking your truck to a radiator shop and having a proper system flush done to clean out the nasties. Specify to the shop you want OEM coolant used to fill the system.
Is this acceptable? Thanks again to all you guys, really thank you
So there is still remnants of original fluid at the bottom of that reservoir. Can i dump the distilled water in there in order to get from point A to B?If you are low on coolant in the radiator or expansion tank just use distilled water till you get the vehicle serviced. You’re in Florida so “antifreeze” isn’t that important at this point.
Thank you really appreciate you fellasFill the radiator to the top with distilled water at the radiator cap, and put at least a half gallon in the reservoir also.
