woah woah woah man...you forgot the real power adder.. A catch can!! Easy 100 hp right there... And if you want to get really serious add a second!

The only thing op will have to worry about now will be if his tranny can handle all that power! I've heard replacing the tranny fluid with redbull should help though.

hahaha

Nobody makes a turbo kit for these trucks. There are multiple supercharger kits available though, and at 6-7lbs, should get you around 450hp to the wheels. Add all the bolt on parts to that, and you will be pushing closer to 500hp to the wheels.

Thx for the useful feedback,i've found a ripp or rebadged vortech & procharger superchargers.I wasn't aware of the potential availability of a turbo but doesn't look like it is.I'm learning about the ups & downs of owning a hemi ram & am trying to make the best of it as i love the features & the way the truck rides but i seem to never get enough power & am trying to improve upon that aspect.

On stock internals.

Maybe they make one of these for the ram? It's probably not fast enough but at least probably makes up for a small dinky.

Bet your an expert pn that small dinky part huh.

He'd probably think it's still slow.

Nevermind that there are several trucks on this forum that are likely faster than his 5.0. I know my truck is slightly faster than my brothers 2012 5.0, but his is bone stock.

If there are several trucks on here faster then a stock 5.0 why does my question of how to reach that level sound so mind blowing to most of these people on here. The fact that they are faster simply proves that i am NOT alone in wanting more out of this truck.
I bet i know why because most are driving daddy bought trucks or have no knowledge of what a fast truck even feels like or are simple childish leg humpers.
I will achieve another level of performance from this truck because other then the lack of power & build quality theres alot about it i like, but unlike some on here im not commited to any single manufacturers label & go buy the best bang for the buck i feel is available when i'm in the market for a vehicle & then try & improve on it's weak links.

Asking how to build power isn't the reason you're getting flamed here. In fact asking how to build power is virtually the lifeblood of this forum, at least the "engines" part anyway. The question is always welcomed.. the issue here is your "this truck and all rams are junk, but how do I make it faster so that I'm less dissatisfied" attitude.

A trip down memory lane:

"This is my 1st & probably last ram....shoddy build quality & tremendous lack of power"

"lord knows these pigs need all the help they can get to stay ahead of the corollas."

"I see no sense in even taking ours to the track as they're always gonna be pigs"

"Not if you buy a dodge, you would be much better off in a used ford ask me how i know this to be FACT."

"just one of many problems with this $50,000+ pos truck."

"Typical dodge quality."

I didn't have to look hard to find this. Suppose I came to your house for dinner and told you your wife is a great cook but ugly as **** and probably sucks in bed. How happy would you be to have me as a guest? No different here. We're here because we LOVE our trucks... not to sit here and listen to someone FROM WITHIN bash them and preach Ford to us. If you're truly dissatisfied... SELL IT! And don't buy another one as you keep threatening to do (as if we care)... Or, as you seem to be interested in modding, maybe adopt a "this will be fun!" approach to building your own custom truck that will be "worthy of wearing the badge".

Buy something else. There is nothing you can do that with your apparent negative attitude toward your truck, that will make you happy.

Jay

Serious, ^ what he said. I honestly don't think you will be happy with any truck off the showroom floor. I have owned all the "big 3" has to offer when it comes to trucks.

Should have done your research and not gotten 3.21's, for a start, second, trade in your Ram and get an F150. The forced induction aftermarket is much greater for the fords compared to the Rams. RIPP claims they are working on a kit, I talked to them in person a few weeks ago, for the 14+ rams. Check back next year they told me.

God speed.

Seriously though... You should check what plant your truck was made at and what time of the year. Because if it was from one of the Canadian factories in the winter time, your tires are probably filled with their dense thick air which is pretty darn heavier, I would look into deflating your tires for some hot sea level air.

I could careless what you say dude. The trucks speed is adaquate for people with low expectations,so enjoy yours & shut up.

Its because he does not have a legitimate problem, he bought a truck but wants a race car..lol

Just spotted the OP actually, looks like he found a solution that suited him!

Your question isn't mind blowing. It's one we've heard a hundred times already, and there are multiple threads here covering it. You're just a forum noob that ******* and complains and doesn't know how to use the search button.

Then you get on here and say most of us have trucks that were bought by our parents.

Listen here *******, I bought my truck. I bought my Z06 too. I'm 23 years old and I'm an engineer making more money than the average household in the US. I worked hard for all that and my parents drove me to as a kid, but the money I've earned is mine and mine alone.

You need a lesson in respect. This is the only one I'll give you. Now I'm going to go back to trolling your stupid ass along with everyone else because we're tired of your stupidity.

I actually like those trucks & they actually have potential in a sporting aspect, but lack in the utility dept, which is why i haven't went that route.

Thx for the trip down memory lane.Where's the part about my brand new truck having rust?
Or all the other known issues that several others have or have had.The fact i'm disappointed is an understatement, apparently your trucks either perfect or you really don't care.I hope you can excuse me for being honest & simply stating the truth.I have also stated several times in the past of which you apparently decided to over look as it didn't fit your agenda of bashing me,which is of the many aspects i really like about my ram & of which were the deciding factors towards me buying one.
I am not bashing everyones truck,i'm simply disappointed in mine & I'm even more disappointed in the potential for more power in the future as i mod all my vehicles & will probably mod my wheel chair when i get to old to walk everywhere because it's just how i am.I guess i set my hopes to high in tge area of future power & am just gonna have to get something else to fulfill that need because honestly i love driving this truck more then any other one i've had but i wants it faster & of course i dont want rust, wet headliner, fogged up lights,a map light that works & heated mirrors that work as well since it is a brand new $50,000+truck.Oh forgot the engine knock & trans slip but that's because those have seemed to stop & i'm taking that was part of breaking in for this drivetrain.

I'm sorry you are disappointed. Did you test drive your truck prior to buying? Did you test drive a Ford before buying? If you drove both and you think the Ford was faster and that is what you are looking for you should have bought that in the first place. Do everyone a favor and trade your truck in for an F-150. Good luck.

BTW the SSR is the ugliest ************* I have ever seen. F*** that.

I had a 13 f150 fx4 with the luxury pkg & a 5.0 engine never had the 1st problem with it.I traded a 15 powerstroke superduty 4x4 in on this as it was a regular cab & i didnt really need the diesel but wanted more room.I was going to get a king ranch f150 but was hesitant due to the all new all aluminum body so i drove others & really liked the ram so i got it.The looks of the ssr are totally subjective like women & to each their own,any other questions amigo?

I respect you've had issues with yours, issues that shouldn't happen on any new vehicle, let alone an expensive one. Unfortunately it'***** and miss with these trucks, as is with any mass produced vehicle. We have virtually the same truck, fully loaded black sport... and aside from two recalls and tires that had flat spotted because the dealer didn't move it around for 6 months, I've had zero issues or complaints with my truck. So laying out blanket statements that Ram his **** build quality just isn't fact IMHO. And is a source for disagreement because I have driven multiple trim levels from the big 3 and find this to be the highest fit n finish of them! That's personal opinion tho and arguing it is stupid. On both our parts.

I also don't fully understand how you can say there's no potential to make these fast? A full bolt-on truck will push out SRT power?! Yes fast is a relative term, but in the end, these ARE trucks. And to say you don't want to hear about gearing to make power is just narrow minded, when I was shopping I compared the exact same truck but a 3.21 vs. 3.92 and it was night and day, hence why I bought my 3.92. There's more to a fast truck than what the engine puts out. And I know you know this.

Comparing an NA mild bolt-on or stock ram to a tuned FI Ford isn't fair either. And it's REALLY not fair to compare them to a diesel super duty. I bleed dodge, but I'll be the first to admit there are faster trucks out there. I think the reason we rave about them and you're less than impressed is because a lot of us here (myself included) started with a 260HP 5.9 magnum 4spd ram. Then graduated to a 345HP 5spd HEMI.. and have now made the move to a near 400HP 8spd HEMI.. and let me tell you.. it's LIGHTYEARS from where it started lol.

I would own a hot rodded diesel in a heartbeat too, but (because daddy doesn't buy me squat) this humble little 1500 is all I can afford. And it isn't that my expectations are low, but for what's out there, I really enjoy my truck. Even sadly bone stock as it is.

Im gunna bow out of the trolling. Hopefully you find a concoction that wakes ur truck up and makes you happy.

I totally agree,i may be spoiled from trucks in my past & expecting more then i should.I am sorry if i hurt anyones feelings as that's not my intention, but i have always struck back when attacked as that's just my nature.
I do appreciate any help i can get towards making this truck everything it can be & it is a very nice truck as is,which is why i got it & i hope to get everything squared away so i can enjoy & be proud of it.
