Hey guys, Purchased my truck almost 3 weeks ago. Going over a few things on the build sheet I got from dodge and curious as to what a few of the things are on it. Overall the truck seems to be pretty well loaded and I am seeing alot of things listed that apparently are pretty saute after features from looking around here on the forums.

Also from my understanding the TRX4 package ended in 2010. My truck was a late 2010 build (Oct 2010) and is title as a 2011. Also from my understandings the TRX4 trucks were two tone paint. However....my truck has the TRX4 decals on the bed and they appear to be factory. I am trying to find out if there is something in the build sheet to look for that may explain this. OR if maybe a dealer slapped oem decals on it when it was new,or if the original owner special ordered the truck this way or what?

I purchased the truck here in MI,but the previous owner (original owner) was from Quebec Canada.

Let me know what you guys think about how well you think it is optioned and also I will highlight/number the areas I am interested in finding out more info on. That way if someone has an answer to one/multiple of my concerns they can simply reply by saying for example "To answer #4......"etc...etc...

Good looking truck I can't anwser all your questions but my guess is you have a trx package with all of the HD suspension parts. Question 1 I would say that the front axle only is HD the rear axle is strong enough to not need a upgrade. I have to skip down to question 9 now for a 1/2 ton 4wd the 3.92 is the lowest gear set you can get. #10 anti spin diff is a Limited slip diff, also known as a posi, it's a feature I wanted it keeps power even between bot rear tires. # 11 I'm not 100% sure but I would say it could be a bunch of things could be bigger water pump could be bigger radiator could be bigger fan or a combination of all of the above but either way it's got more cooling power. # 12 I believe the next gen controller is for the fact that the hemi is now a variable valve timing engine and the next gen controller is what controls that. Can't anwser 13 but #14,#15 those are codes for quick order packages. When a dealer what's to order a truck they have codes that mean this truck has these specific options it normally a combination of popular options. I don't know what those specific codes mean.

Thanks for chiming in.

I have a basic idea at what some of the things might be. The cooling system for example... I understand it has more cooling which is a good thing. I don't however know what they did to improve it over a standard cooling system and it is those differences that I am curious of.

Anyone else that might have an idea at what some of these things are on the build sheet or that has specific details on any of them. Please feel free to chime in. I would love to learn what it all means.

Thanks again!.

Can't help with your specific questions but when I bought my truck 3 weeks ago my dealer told me that because of the weak Canadian dollar, trucks are being shipped to the US from Canada like hot cakes.

I was curious as to how/why it would have made its way here to the states. Now that you mention that...seems to make alot of sense.

The dealer said it was a one owner truck (carfax confirmed it). So I am guessing the original owner turned it in as a trade in and then it hit the auction block maybe at which point it landed here in the states. who knows. I got a pretty good deal on it...Can't imagine they made much on it between purchase price and import fees and whatever else they might have had to deal with.

Now if I can just get a better grasp on everything on this build sheet I will feel alot more knowledgeable on what exactly everything means.

I would like to get an original window sticker but from my under standing 2011 is to old and they removed the info from the system at chrylser already and all you can get your hands on is the build sheet data.

And I knew something was up after purchasing the truck. I found a receipt for gas stuffed in a pocket on the side of the center console and it was all in French. And all of the music on the hard drive radio was in French language aswell. That's when I started digging into the car fax and build sheet and found it was originally from Quebec Canada. Kind of neat knowing the journey it has made.

I often wondered where traded in vehicles go. I hope my rusty old 2004 Ram 1500 SLT ended up somewhere useful, even if for organ transplants so it can help another truck live.

Started out shopping for used and when I mentioned the lack of stock to the dealer that is when he told me about the cross border shipping.

Funny that the music was still there, in French. I reminded the dealer when he was preparing mine to make sure menu system was in English.

Enjoy your new ride, and put a screwdriver to it ... that is when a new vehicle feels like mine!

Checking the build sheet is a good idea I learned from forums like this. In fact, I went through mine while they were prepping it before I picked it up so I could ask a couple of questions. For example, there is a block heater but I could not find a cord. Tech had to search to find where they tucked it away under a plastic panel!

....and do post a picture. I may be new here, but everyone likes to see the rides we have!

I posted a couple pictures earlier in the thread. And I believe I posted some in a thread when I introduced myself to the forum.

And the menu's on the radio were all in english. Just the actual language the music was in was french.

And yes I have done a few things to the truck already but still have a list of things I want to do to it eventually. Leveling kit is one of them (however I really need to figure out the trx4 stuff before I dive into that as I have heard leveling kits for the trx4's are different than the other trucks). And I am thinking of getting a mufflix kit for it and let the ponies roar lol.

I believe most of the things you put are not unique to your truck. I can't answer what some items are like the modules and stuff. For instance the HD shocks, I believe all Hemi trucks have that or at least all of them with the 20" wheels. Every new Ram spec sheet I've seen has it. If you're really curious go to a dealership site and grab some VIN's on there and enter those into the build sheet page. It's interesting to see what's similar and what each truck or any Mopar vehicle has.

The Heavy Duty Cooling means that your radiator has one extra core in it compared to standard, this something that usually comes with a tow package. The Next Generation Engine Controller is the updated PCM over the previous version, this is the one that took longer to crack. As for the rear gears, 3.92 are good depending what your needs are and the LSD is something to have.

I need not think about checking the vin of other trucks and comparing side by side with mine. Thanks for the tip. Ill check out dealer inventories of similar trucks with vin#'s posted and see if I can any of the info I am looking for.

Thanks for the info!.

I probably wont put a lower gear set to use the way it would be best used for. Likely wont be hauling much for trailers. Possibly a small camper from time to time sometime in the future. It is mostly just a daily driver that doesnt see much highway use.

even most Tradesmans I looked at (except for one) were "loaded" compared to what I am used to in Dodge trucks. I'd have been fine with crank windows and a rubber mat. I have only seen1 since I have been looking, equipped that way. I was gonna go look at it, til I called and the dealer couldn't give me a straight answer to a simple question.
I did finally get someone sorta honest (if that is possible among sales people) It has 20k less than what I wound up with and (something I really wanted) NOT WHITE!!
Among 3 people I talked to at that stealership I got 2 stories about whether it was a local trade or an auction truck. My next question was gonna be about any sort of service history.
