Bought this truck at an auction a little bit ago 90 dodge ram w250 been working on it since I bought it lol but anyways was doing the drum brakes did the passenger without problems then I came to the driver side . And someone destroyed the threads surprised I even got the nuts off took me 3 days to finally get the drum off . I need a threading nut that's big enough for a 2 9/16 nut lol I've been looking online haven't found anything yet . Can't even put wheel bearing on it . Once I got the drum off the back wheel bearing was stuck on and I had to use a jaw puller to get that off . Maybe they're supposed to be that hard to come off but the passenger side came off without any problems at all. Which leads me to believe its not lol any help would be amazing !

You need a thread file that matches the pitch of the threads. Do you have a pitch gage?

I've been using that very file you're talking about . Its doing some work but its not gonna get the very beginning of of the thread I don't believe the pitch is 16 I believe that's what I've been using at least and what I was told to use.

I wanna say its a dana 70 but I'm not positive. I don't know much about anything other than what I've read . I don't know if you say the picture lol but threads are messed up . I'm working it with a file.

With as messed up as that bolt is you’re going to spend a ton of time cleaning it up with a file.

Ive got a two piece die set used to clean up bolts like this. Each two piece die is about $100 but it’s money we’ll spent to make the job easier.

Now I'm in a completely new problem . I can't get the wheel bearings to slide on after that point . Is it possible the the metal got so hot it permanently expanded ? I'm completely stuck on what to do.

Get a reliable caliper and measure the inside of the bearing and outside of the shaft. Let’s make sure your not chasing the wrong problem.

Passneger side is about 1.999 inches highest it got while going in a full circle was about 2.003 inches. Driver side some spots are okay at 1.998 but highest it got was about 2.030 I'd would have to say its slightly warped

The measurements sound right. There’s a process to reassemble. Follow that video and post up any questions you have.

I'm not totally sure this will help .. But search for a REPAIR MAN .. CALLED the AXLE doctor
These men buy a franchise business. Not they normally work on big trucks & TRAILERS.
bUT A PHONE CALL to this man & you'll be talking to the man who knows the most of how to repair Something like this .
.... Now on what he does with trucks .. He can mill off the end & well on a new end. & Then mill every thing to the proper sizes . A big axle repair cost about $500.00. But if he can just tell you where to buy the Dies to fix your problem.
.......... I' believe Dorman Product makes the nuts you need..
Also Ford & Dodge some times use the same axle nuts. so a good Ford Parts Man might could help you some what.

There are so many Dana 70s in the auto dismantling yards, they almost give them away
