I have just purchased a 2004 ram 1500 from my older brother. He went to replace the CV axle and wasn't able to put it into the pumpkin. Later a shop put it in and a few days later it fell out. I need to know why it did that and how to correct it. Sorry I am new to trucks and don't know much about them. All help is appreciated.

Typically theres a snap ring on the end of the axle that goes into the casing. If its not seated properly it'll pop back out as you have described. I have done in the past is take a heavy hammer, screw the nut on till flush with end of shaft, take hammer and pound it in there until you feel it pop in, then pull on the shaft to be sure its seated in. If not it'll pop out easily
