Intermittent problems are great. They are like having gremlins that like to hide whenever you look for them. Only come out when you're not looking. Good luck. Let us know what you find

The dealership replace the canbus module. They said it was it having errors and appeared to be overheating. They told me if I have any issues in the future that they will have to replace the entire wiring harness due to the possibility of an issue in one of the wires that is not currently seen. They said everything checks out for now though.

Trucks not running again. Oddly I went into the tipm and I was hearing clicking. So I smacked it and my truck turned back on by itself. If I smack it again my truck will turn off again.

Did you get this figured out? Almost looks like the relay socket in the TIPM has a cracked solder joint....

Yes and no. It was a faulty tipm. Or well the dealer called it the ipc (intelligent power control). Narrowed down to being an internal failure. They went ahead and changed the tipm and no more issues. They explained to me that the their tech narrowed it down to the output wire to the pcm loosing power causing this issue but with no exact reasoning but I had figured that much already. Said if they wiggled the fuse for pcm the truck would shut down.

That's cool they replaced it for you, sounds like that was the issue all along....

Luckily the tipm or ipc as they now call it on the 2013+ trucks is only around $300 new. I don't believe it requires programming so it should be a pretty simple swap. I bought one as a spare since I plan on keeping the truck for a while.
