Need help!!!!!

HELP!!! Im doing my headlight retro and im trying to paint the surround inside and nothing is sticking! I first used aheasion promoter and then paint, and that all flaked of. Second i scuffed the hell out of the plastic/chrome and used a plastic specific paint and thats not working. What do you guys do tp get a goob paint surface!?

Use a good primmer over a scuffed surface.
Be sure to stay within the same brand (IE All Kyrlon or DupliColor).

If you HAVE to switch brands, be sure to let one fully out-gas (like a few days minimum) before top-coating.

If you have some other parts that you've not started on, I suggest soaking them in bleach. It'll dissolve the chrome on the parts leaving you with shiny smooth plastic ready to be scuffed / painted.

Sooooo after much frustration with this stupid paint, i got a textured look that i would describe as a "smooth spray in truck liner". Not what i wanted but i will have to live with it as i ran out of time. It sucks that im not exactly happy with the result but it is what it is. Here are some pics. None of the "texture" but heres the result. Lemme know what you think

I found out carnauba wax takes off the chrome like you wiping off dirt f
