I recently replaced two o2 sensors and decided to take the pos (+) cable off of the battery to reset the computer and get rid of my CEL. I did this yesterday and when I got into the truck and took it for a test drive the light was off. What I didn't realize was my clock and radio presets where still there, which I noticed this today. So I'm wondering if I actually did reset the computer if my clock time and radio presets remained intact. One other strange thing is my driver side window will now not go down. This worked fine before I took the battery cable off. I had that cable off for at least 30 mintues while i was working on the CAI.

So my question is this: was I suppose to take both leads off the battery?
Would that cause my window to malfunction when all the rest work fine?

What do i do next?

thanks for any input.

Try touching the positive and negative cables for a little bit together maybe?

Seriously? I thought that would cause a major spark and surge through the system. I'll try it though. thanks

Yes, either do the cable touching deal, or turn your headlight switch to the on position, to completely drain any residual energy stored.

I'll give it a try tonight, thanks. Would taking the battery cable off cause my driver side window to stop working? I doubt it but just thought I would ask.

I'm also curious why after having my + cable off for 30 minutes why my radio would still have the right time and presets working?

Even when replacing my radio or when my battery died, it saved my presets too, it's gotta have a memory

I just took both cables off and turned the key to purge anything that might be left. This time the clock reset on the stereo, I checked the CEL a few times by starting the truck several times and right now the light is off! yeah. I'll let it sit tonight and see what happens on the drive into work tomorrow. I had Advance auto pull the code before resetting and it was P1494 Leak detection pump switch.... I've had this before and it seemed it was a phantom code, it went away and I've looked it up and it's often misdiagnosed. So for now all is good except for my driver side window. I tried to pull the fuses but none were labeled Power windows so I just pulled them all that had to do with that door panel. Still not working, I guess I'll have to buy another switch.

Do I need to buy the entire power board on the driver side or can I just buy the one switch that's bad?

Anyone know where the evap pump is on these 4.7's? I still have the P1494 leak pump section error code and I need to find where to look at hoses.
