First post here, so I’m not sure this is where I’m supposed to post or not.

anyways I’ve been buying rams for over 20 years and currently I have a 2018 ram bighorn.

My problem is when I hit the brakes the accelerator kicks in and tries to take off, this happened to me at a fast food drive thru window and freaked the employee out so next day I take it to dodge to have it looked at and they told me there wasn’t any codes on my vehicle and sent me on my way.
About two weeks later it happened again when I was stopped and talking to a lady in another vehicle. Again I contacted dodge in my hometown and they said sir if we can’t duplicate problem there’s nothing we can do.
So my wife started investigating this and found out a lot of people have this problem, so any ideas what I should do or should I just keep going till I kill someone or myself before something is done?
Thanks for any ideas. Clint n.

welcome Clint,

wow...Ive had three now and have not experienced this as well.
Its always sir, we cant reproduce if they don't have a code, and shops will deny to the death they've seen this before.
Good luck, maybe someone that has had this happen can chime in.

The brain truss at FCA is only interested in stoichiometric combustion so the computer
looks after that before your safety
I have been trying to talk to some one about that for over a year and keep getting that is the way it was
designed so live with it pushing me down a 9% grade till something decides to stop fueling and will hold on the
9% grade some responses I got was to move to bottom of the hill or start and run truck for 5 minutes first
Until we get together and make FCA fix stuff you are on your own
If I can get my 2018 to do this I will be all over them

That is a safety issue and the truck should not be driven until the problem is resolved.

Yea JayLeonard I totally agree...wife saw one post where their 2018 hit a lady and she was taken to hospital. Not cool if they know there’s a problem then recall the trucks or at minimum accelerator or whatever causes this problem.

Did the shop tell you your foot was too wide and pressing both pedals? Surely something they might say

That actually happened to me. At the time the company I worked for had a Chevy Silverado. The first time I drove it I thought it had the same problem but it was me. I was wearing new boots and they were a bit wider than my old ones and the truck was new to me so I wasn't used to it. Put that together and you got your issue.

It does happen, maybe not in your case but it does.

Does this truck have E-Torque or Adaptive Cruise Control by chance? How about adjustable pedals? Aftermarket floor mats? Just curious.
