Need to buy a new tire sensor

2010 Ram 1500 4x4:

One of my tire sensors has apparently died (showing zero), so I need to buy a new sensor. There are probably several hundred sensors to choose from and I don't know one from another. I'd LIKE to order it from Amazon, if possible. Any recommendations?

Since it's a 2010, suggest you buy directly from Mopar. You will save yourself a world of trouble.

I had a 2011 and I believe the sensor frequency was 433hz.

Hmm... I hadn't thought of that. Wouldn't you still get the annoying alert that used to say one tire had zero pressure, but would now say that FOUR tires have zero pressure?

In my 2012, that alert went away after a few Kms of driving . Never to be seen again for the last 8 years... lol..

The sensors were 315 Mhz in 2009, if i recall correctly
A year or 2 later they changed to 433

Sensors were 315 up to and including 2013 . In 2014 they switched to 433 or 434 either will work they just estimated up to 434. I purchased off of amazon, but made sure to get mopar brand sensors , it’s been 3 yrs since with no issues .

According to Mopar, the part number for my tire sensor is 68406537AA, and everything that I can find regarding the Mhz says that it is 433 Mhz. Is that incorrect?

Just put these in on Saturday then I dropped the new wheels off at the shop to get tires mounted and balanced. When I actually got to installing the wheels and tires on the truck yesterday they read right off the bat. Did nothing but put them in the wheels, and then install there was no programming or anything else needed.

IMO I would replace al 4 if they are all 2010.

Are you sure it's the sensor and not the transmitter in the wheel? You might want to swap 2 wheels and see if it follows the wheel ( hence bad transmitter) or stays with the tire position (bad sensor).

Transmitter? Sorry, apparently I'm not as ready for this as I thought. I was under the impression there are only two components to a TPMS - the tire sensors and the TPMS monitor which is mounted on the fame and connects to the onboard computer. Where is the transmitter? In the wheel? I thought the sensor WAS the transmitter.

I had to replace one and I went with NAPA. No issues on my 12. I am sure dodge is also in the ball park, their just wasn't a dealer close enough when I switched out my wheels and tires.

I'm sure you are correct. I HAVE been under my 2010 Ram and I've seen the TPMS monitor that is mounted behind the fender by the left front tire. What I'm confused about is the "transmitters" that "Indepth" was referring to. Where are they or is he calling the sensors "transmitters"?
