Your truck is not an 8 speed. What is the payload rating on the door jamb? What is the pin weight of the trailer?

Tongue or bed weight should be all you have to worry about with the Cummins, since they are rated to pull about twice that much........

What's the trailer's GVWR? If you saying it's the 15K lbs you posted, you should good even if the pin weight is 25%.The truck rear GAWR is 7K lbs and base weight is under 3K. Some of the pun weight goes forward You'll want to check actual weights preferably using a CAT scale.
As for the Cummins, even the standard output version with 3.73 gearing will yank that trailer sideways.

This looks like the unit you're checking into:

It has a GVWR of 18,005, but doesn't list pin weight. Assuming 22% pin weight, if you're fully loaded you'll have about 3900# pin weight. You should have around 4400 pounds of payload capacity on your truck. Check the sticker on your door jamb for actual numbers. You're rated to tow 20k or 25k depending on SO or HO Cummins.

Good advice above. One more way to know: Load your truck full of people, gear, gas, hitch, etc. And go weigh it. Take your GVWR and subtract the weight of your loaded vehicle. That difference is your payload capacity you have to work with and should be more than the fully loaded pin weight of your trailer. Good luck.
