Seems like it. Or could have flown an engineer out here or drove the truck to them by now. Don't know what's next, but one way or another, this is going to get right! If you add all the time I've missed from work and the missed use of the truck to accomplish the whole reason i bought the truck (towing my stuff), I know it's been costly to me as well. Missed a month of prime summer boating season!

Missing a month of boating in our are alone is enough to **** me off enough to drive it through the service door and blame brake failure. Lol. Boating up here is a bigger investment than most realize since you basically have 4 months to utilize your investment.

Roger that! Even in the "good" months, many days are cool and crappy.

Lemon law?

The Ohio Attorney General's office has a consumer protection bureau and they provide a lot of help and info about Ohio's lemon law. I'm trying to be fair and give the dealership and FCA every opportunity to fix it so we don't have to have that hassle. So far, it's not looking very good for a fix. Stay tuned for the next part of the saga

Well this year was closer to 2 months lol.

Yeah, I got it from winter storage in may but it rained all month. Finally got it out on the lake in June, but only twice because - Yep, rained all month! July wasn't bad, August ok. First half of September was cool and wet. Not a good boating summer. I put mine on Shenango Lake.

Nice rig! We trailer ours so we can take advantage of multiple lakes in this area. I can launch and recover by myself. The wife won't drive my truck and dosen't know how to back or haul a trailer. That's my fault - guess I'm a little protective and particular about my truck and toys, so she doesn't want to see me sweat if she would get behind the wheel. I told her, "Hell, I have good insurance!".

This was our rig. Sold it. Looking for something different. Glad we didn't have it this summer since the weather sucked.

It really did. Rained do much here most of the launch ramps were closed. You know it rained a lot when there's too much water to launch a boat!

Nice piece of equipment you had. I changed from a power boat to a pontoon when the kids grew up. Now just love to float and lounge around. I have a wet bar and a couple bar stools, so it is a great lounging spot. Headed out tomorrow if the forecast holds - 80 and sunny!

I have the same clunking problem on my 16. Checked everything, replaced shockels and still does it. Drives me nuts but I love the truck so I deal with it. Hope your problem gives me some new direction to look.
Excellent! I would never have thought of that. I could definitely see it happening though. About 35 yrs ago, I left a Buck knife laying near the windshield under the hood on a customers car. I just did a tune-up, belts & hoses. Had no idea where I lost that knife until she came in 2 yrs later and simply wanted me to do an oil change. Popped the hood and was looking at my rusty as crap Buck knife, right where I left it. Blade out. Too bad it didn't rattle, I'd have got it back much sooner.
Good luck brother. I am liking my '17 2500 Tradesman 4x4, 6.4 too.

My Ram Care Specialist texted me Friday and the engineers hope to figure out the next steps by Monday. I'll be taking it back in to let them try again. Maybe this will be the silver bullet. Meanwhile - I'll start writing the check for the second payment. At least i can drive it and pull my boat while they deliberate. I'll let you guys know what happens next.

This reminds me of having a sick friend that they keep running tests on. Hasn't been very much fun.

Well, finally heard from the dealership today. My case has been escalated again and there will be a field engineer getting involved. They are planning to try a new idea and I guess I'm the guinea pig. Seems like we are focused on the cab and bed mounts at this point. Taking the truck in tomorrow morning to let them have another go at the problem. We'll see how it goes and I'll let you know.

Hope they get it resolved. Unfortunately, since I'm out of warranty, it will probably be cheaper for me to trade trucks lol.

Yep- if I was out of warranty that's what I'd do too! I always get hopeful. Maybe this will help other guys who have this problem

Took my truck back in yesterday morning. They tried their ideas and the noise is still there. Reading between the lines, it seems like there is a group of bad cab mounts out there. The Gen 5 2500's have a bunch of new noise dampening stuff on them to make the interior quieter. The mounts supposedly have liquid in them and a batch of bad ones may be the issue.

There is a field engineer involved now and they are sending some new mounts to try today that are "known good" from being tested on trucks with no rattle/clunk. I'll let you know what happens. Seems like getting the next order of parts takes 7 days two weeks, so I'm still in a holding pattern.

Sometimes I wonder if I'm hopeful or just delusional. I'm rooting for a fix though.

Ridiculous and sad that it is taking this long and this much work to find a rattle.
