the 5.7 hemi has a long and proven track record with millions of them in service. besides getting the v6 motor in a full size truck would be the kiss of death as far as resale goes.

First sentence true, second sentence not so much but it depends where in the country you are, too. My dealer sells/resells many 3.6's (it's a huge dealership).

@Robeffy most owners only post problems, not how well things are going (there's a recent thread on the Forum talking about that). I've ran diesels, Hemis and currently a Pentastar and haven't had any significant issues with any of them. They all serve their purpose. You're clearly doing your research, but get what's right for your situation.

Posted several times in here about Engines and rear ends and weight capacity for towing. I pulled into the driveway today with a 2020 Ram 2500 with the Cummins diesel. Towing a 30 Ft 8,000 lb trailer was white knuckle saying it mildly with the Ram 1500. Haven't hooked up yet, but it seems like one awesome truck. Thanks for all of the help the last few days.

Same as me. I traded my 1500 Limited after a few white knuckle runs pulling my Airstream. 1K payload is not nearly enough!

I had a 2013 1500 with the 5.7 that I traded with 70,000 and now a2018 2500 with a 6.4 with 20.000 on it. My son has a 2018 6.4 with 80, 000 on it. My step-son had a 2009 5.7 with about 40,000 when he traded it, then had a 2015 5.7 that had about 30,000 when he traded it, then a 2019 5.7 with about 20,000 before he traded it. My step-father had a 2008 5.7, 2011 5.7, 2014 5.7 and 2017 5.7 and all were traded at about 50,000 and none had any engine issues. The closest to an engine issue with any of them was my 2014 had broke exhaust manifold bolts. We all got our oil changed religiously and used the correct oil.

What is wrong with the Firestone tires? I have them on my 2020 Ram 2500.

I am curious about that too. my son just bought a new 2500 laramie dsl and it came with the firestone tires..in fact I am seeing those on most of the new ram 2500's I have looked at while shopping for one myself..what gives

I have Firestones as well on my 2018 2500, they ride nice and do what I need them to do.

I live out in the "country" and the property does not have a drive way, a path cut in the prairie grass instead. After a fresh rain or snow, I would have to put the truck in 4wd to get up the 100ft of road. At first the tire pressure was as on the door (80) then tried 75 and 70 and still no go. And yes it was light footed. Then the kicker was going in for the 4th rotation (5k rotates), I noticed the tires were barely above the wear bars with one into the wear bar. 20k miles and worn out. Im at 17k miles since the change of tires and plenty of tread left.

Yep. I live on a dirt road also, I am fortunate that it is not up hill so I don't have as hard of a slog home. What did you go with for a replacement?

So to "summarize" you think they have poor traction and don't wear well.

I just got my 2021 and I'll keep an eye on them for wear.
I'm not an off road guy so traction should be ok for my driving style.
