Posted a thread about this a week or so ago but can't find it. Anyway, son has a 2018 2500 with 13,000 miles and due to his work environment his company bought him new K02's. He got them installed today. Bill was just under $2000. He got an alignment done too ($120). They charged $220 labor! The alignment was separate from the labor charge. Geeeesh. His company paid for it but still.

So I asked what he did with the factory Firestones and he told them to keep them. They only had 13,000 miles. He said he didn't have anywhere to keep them.

I had KO2's and they wore horribly on these heavy trucks. As long as his company is paying for tires it won't matter much. But I don't think I could have gotten 15k out of a set without bringing them down to the wear bars. So good luck to him.

$400 per tire??? What size are they? I got my 35x12.5r17 Toyo MT for $330 a tire. Maybe so expensive cause they’re 20 inch?

I like the BFG KO2s I had on my wife's Jeep but doubt I'd get another pair. They were pricey, but good tires usually are.
But we have a lot of gravel roads in my area and they pick up and sling gravel bad.
Great in the snow though.

Not that it matters but that about $500 too high for that tire. We stopped buying KO2’s for company trucks 2-3 years ago and switched to Toyo’s. Lots of complaints about the BFG’s. I’d mention to your son to give them a look when it’s time to change the BFG tires.

I have nothing but good things to say about the BFG KO2 tires. They perform as expected on my 1 ton and did the same on my former 1/2 ton truck. People complain about tire wear, but wear and performance go hand in hand. I read a lot before buying them for my 3500, but ended up with them anyway. I don’t care for Goodyear and Toyo because of past experiences. Maybe the newer ones are better, but I’m willing to stick with what I have experience with.

Yea they are 285/60 R20's. He had a company owned 2018 Silverado 1500 and got 3 flats in the first month. A couple guys he worked with recommended the K02's so the company put those on the Silverado for him. He put about 20,000-25,000 miles on them and was happy with them but it was a 1500 so we will see.

yeah, i don't like Good Year tires. Rain performance was always lacking. The SRA's on my 1500's were probably the best GY's I had.

I have KO2’s on my 14 2500. They are on the Laramie 18” wheels 275/70r18 and they were $900 out the door here. I have 15,000 miles on and all tires still have ****! I run 60psi in all tires. Tire guy I know said they last longer not filled to 80psi

I’m in the market for new tires on my ‘18 2500. BFG just came out last year with the KO2 DT that has a different tread compound for our heavier trucks. I’ll be having them installed in a week or two.

Interesting. I googled it and looks like they have a 50,000 miles warranty too. I have 305 mickey thompsons right now that measure right at 34". I think I'm going go a full 35 inch tire next go round and Mickey doesnt make one in a load range e.

YES, WELCOME TO THE REALITY OF 20" TIRES...
$400 for 20" KO2's is really not that far off the mark, all the other crap charges sure do stack up though don't they?
BFG's old school tires? Maybe but they sure do work if you can afford them. They wouldn't be top ranked by the consumer on sites like Tire Rack if they sucked so bad as some claim... Maybe it's tire envy? LoL...
EVERY set of BFG all terrains that I've had over the decades have been great tires and it isn't uncommon that I'd get 45,000 to even 55,000 miles on a set if you run the pressures right.

They will serve you son well. Thank goodness he didn't have to pay for 'em; that IS the worst part about BFG's...

yeah. the $400 per tires was bad enough but the $220 labor to swap them was a little crazy

Say what you want. I couldn't get 15k out of mine safely even though they were rotated and wearing evenly. Internet if full of similar complaints from people with heavy trucks claiming they didn't last long. If you drive a jeep or something much lighter then these HD trucks they probably wear much better. Otherwise they were great.
