I bought a 2011 2500 cummins yesterday, was a transport fleet truck of some sort because it has a hydraulic lift gate and awesome bed rail tie down setup, and the interior is immaculate, and it runs like brand new at just under 289k. It is bone stock, never deleted. I am looking at deleting it, and i need to know all of the ins and outs of it. I have a friend at work that just upgraded tuners and will give me a deal on a smarty jr to deal with the trouble codes and such, but i have no freakin clue how to delete the dpf system. Egr deletes ive done on gassers and 6 point oh no fords, how is it on the 6.7? Also, what is the throttle valve delete and ccv i keep hearing of? There is an egr and throttle valve delete for $100 locally on Facebook still new in box. I love everything about this truck and want to get the most miles i can out of it, any help is appreciated 6fd4e6e1bac29de026d3b4ed41806769.jpg730b4324dd2328e5937169f66224c2ed.jpgc250bfc4ca82eff11d65852ff902e541.jpg63068486686f8460d0314e4763068c6d.jpg

Congrats on your Cummins purchase.

There are some good threads on the EGR, throttle valve and DPF system deletes on the cummins forum.

There are also delete instructions online & How To videos on YouTube.

Congrats on the truck!

Like suggested, I would go over to the Cummins forum and do a lot of research on deleting before you make that commitment. I can be very costly if you are not careful. In stock forum these trucks don't like much added HP (blown transmissions etc.)..

Congrats on your "new to you" truck! Did you have any hesitation on buying it with almost 290k miles on it? I ask because I'm looking at used trucks and some of the ones in my budget have 90-110,000 miles. I know these diesels can go forever so should I not be so picky?

I used to be a mechanic and know what to look for in a used rig, my biggest concern was the tranny and it is solid. There is always a risk when you buy a high mileage vehicle though, and if you are not experienced in it i would have your local mechanic give it a look over before you commit

How’s the truck been?
Love it, its now fully deleted, and smarty tuned, no issues whatsoever. Averaging 17mpg which isnt bad in my book for a cclb auto truck. The exhaust brake is one of my favorite things, was towing 8k last week, and yhe truck didnt care at all
