You can wire it direct to a fuse that's live with the key on (need to buy separate harness $12.95 Can) or I used the cigarette adapter cord that came with it and when plugged in it's only come on with the key turned on. The camera powers up and starts recording automatically when you start the truck. When you shut down the truck the camera shuts down and saves the recorded video. Remote start should power up the adapter, will check for sure and report.

what harness did you order? I don't like the long cig cord deal.

I didn't order the harness, I just used the cig lighter cord that came with it. i've seen it on Amazon.ca so I'm sure Amazon.com has it as well. Cheers
