Well welcome there bud! A semi local boy. Well speaking from a second gen and from you already having 5.9 you know some of the normal issues with them. Now when your looking for one I would definitely reccomend a 4x4 cause I know how the winters here can get. As far for price you might only be able to find something around a 96 with ungodly miles. I personally would add some extra to your cash if you can and get a 98 or newer. They already have obd2. The 5.9 is great. I love mine. I paid 6k for mine with 89000 miles on it. If ya got anymore questions go right ahead and ask. We don't bite. Well I don't at least lol. Welcome again and good luck on your search. Oh yea sho is a nice car but I have seen too many have bead issues after 150k but that's just me.

I just want to keep it running, don't care if it's slow or lifted or not. Parking garages down here don't have the highest clearances. I want a 4x4 for sure, the Ohio winters suck.

Welcome Patrick!

Thanks!

Thanks for the welcome. Yeah, I know the magnums inside and out and have almost all my stock parts off the Dakota, if anything internally were to go south. I keep a look out, I love the OBD-II with my truck because of SCT. The Dakota's started using OBD-II in 96. What transmission is usually behind the magnums in a 4x4 Ram?

Very nice. The 46re is what I have. If you will be towing I recommend getting at least 3.92 gears. Ideally a 4.10 but those can be hard to find.

Alright cool, do they have 9.25" rears in them? Not sure what the front would be. New to 4x4's so I don't know what they run up front.

Up front if you get a 1500 you will have a dana 44. Out back is the chrysler 9.25 If you get a 2500 I believe its dana 60 front and rear. 1500 is more common and is more in your price range.
