Hello all. I have been lurking for about a week or so. This is my first post.
I was on the hunt for a Silverado, but could not find one for what I was looking to spend that did not need a ton of work. I came across a 98 Ram 1500 5.2 4x4 SLT with 209k on it. It seemed to be a one local purchased/owned truck that was well taken car of. After further investigation, I discovered it had always been maintained by the selling dealership, up til last year, and finally traded in by the original owner in October of this year. It has had the intake manifold recall. It even has all the books and the window sticker in it. It did not seem to need much to pass inspection, and the price was right, so I bought it.
In the past week I have replaced the rear shaft/rear u joint, both front shocks, steering stabilizer, battery ends, 4x4 service, LOF, and PCV valve, and hand formed and welded a rocker panel for the drivers side. All in all, it is a decent truck. The steering box is junk. 3" of play, and leaking. I will replace that as soon as I have more time to work on it.
