Hi all,
Joined to learn more about the New Rams. I had a 1997 Ram 1500 quad and traded it in for a Suburban due to having 2 Great Danes and another little one. Yup, I am Female, huge Tomboy :)
Couldn't stand not having a truck so bought a '06 F-350 Diesel but traded that for a car in '17. Gawd do I miss it :(

Anywho, looking to get another Pick up, either another ford or Ram. Love the Rams so I am leaning toward that.
I am not looking for fancy Smancy, it will be a work truck on the farm, occasional towing and lots of stuff in the bed.
Trying to find the best $$

I am searching on the forums for all to know, great forum BTW. I will go with the V6 and something like a Tradesman. No need for extra bells, I like Clothe Bench seats but still want an auto start.
I have been reading reviews and a bunch of issues many are having with in the 1st month of owning the Ram.

Anyway, thanks for adding me, I got a lot to learn on the new stuff.

Welcome to the forum. Are you buying new or used? I'm guessing that every brand has issues, just luck of the draw. The V-6 is a tried and true motor and if you get a tradesman, much less gizmo's to crap out on you...

Welcome!

What do you mean by "auto start"? If you mean remote start, I don't know if that is an option on the tradesman.

V6 will severely limit your towing and esp. so with 3.21 gears so take into account how heavy of a load you wish to tow.

Thanks all,
2019 New and yes I mean Remote start.
I need to see what comes standard on each model, so many to choose from now. Plus all the '19's left have stuff added.

I saw one that comes standard with Spray in liner. They added a $2200 pkg that DELETES the liner and then added it back in at like $595 wtf is that all about :mad:

There is only a couple of thousand dollars (probably less than that with discounts) difference between a Tradesman and Big Horn.
BUT a world of difference in nice options (that honestly don't break that often).

I optioned a
Big Horn 2019 $41580 V6, 3.55 rear, level 2 group. - remote start, heated seats/wheel, etc. - bench seat.
or a
Tradesman 2019 $38735 V6, 3.55, level 1, trademan group - no remote start, but spray in liner, bench seat.

They just don't compare in options, but only you can decide which suits you better.
IMO the Big Horn is a much nicer truck in every respect. Both were Quad Cab with 6'4" bed, 4X4

Thanks ! That is good to know. I don't need much for options really as it is going to get Dirty inside too ;) I like the idea of a rubber floor (no carpet). And like all others want to spend less $$

They make all weather floor mats that almost eliminate the dirty carpet of days gone by - Husky, etc.

You could always add a remote start if it doesn't come with one - might be aftermarket though.

I don't know if you like to haggle for a lower price or not.
BUT if you do not, you can look to see if you qualify for being an affiliate via your employer.

https://www.fcausaffiliates.com › affiliate-rewards › docs › companylocator

This will give you 1% below invoice and less nuisance fees as they are capped by the program.
Makes for a low stress free way to buy if you qualify, however you may be able to haggle a better price depending on the dealer - some areas are more competitive than others.
