Hello,
Just signed up and starting lurk around. Thought I’d introduce myself.
I recently bought a barely used 2021 1500 Laramie. I’m new to pickup trucks. My last cars were a Durango and a Subaru STi. I wanted the 4x4 so that I could take my friends and family out onto the beach to do some surf cast fishing, which I’ve done many times over the summer- the kids love it.
I have been considering some upgrades to the truck to make life easier and get some better use out of it. So I thought I would come here and plunder all your knowledge to use for my benefit.
For those that care to know, I am in NY. Former Marine Corps Sgt. Current NYPD Detective.

Nice truck! Not sure what more you'd want to do with that thing as it's probably pretty spec'd out and upgraded already? Keep it OEM as much as possible in my opinion. Please tell me you aren't thinking about lifting it and putting bigger tires on it :) lol.

Welcome from a former fellow NY'er. What precinct do you work out of? I grew up in Jamaica, near the 103rd.

lol. Maybe one day, but I’m not really interested in that. I will need tires next year though.
I came here because I wanted to see how people are managing their beds to get a good solution for my needs. Too many times my bed goes unused because I don’t want an item or groceries I just picked up slamming around the back while I drive. I already found the AMP bedxtender on this forum and placed an order for one. Seems like something that should have been offered from the dealership.
Now that that’s in the works, another thing I’m looking to dive into is the exhaust. I’d love to get some more sound out of it, nothing crazy though. I heard good things about MBRP exhausts, but I need to shop around.

I’m well acquainted with your area. I actually need to go there to 165 and Jamaica to get a watch battery replaced soon. I work as a Detective, but all over queens.

I was walking around your street a couple weeks ago for a case. Hows the Deli there? Im partial to the one on 169 and Jamaica, so thats usually where I go.
I see you are in Vegas now. I had family over there by Lake Mead Blvd and Nellis Blvd.

Haven't lived there in a long time. There were some better delis down in Queens Village, around 217th and Jamaica Ave., but, they are probably long gone by now.

169th and Jamaica had a really good pizza place there back when I lived there. Snack-E-Bob III, right next to the old Mays Dept. store, one side was Greek, other side was pizza. That too (and the Mays) is long gone.

Been in Vegas since 1981. Lake Mead and Nellis isn't terribly far from me, about 8 miles or so. Used to play darts in a few bars around there, so, I know the area pretty well.
