Hello all!

I just purchased a 2016 Ram 1500 black express :love51: I came from driving a '14 civic si but work took me in a different way and had to buy a truck! I couldn't be happier with it.

Now onto my lost part; I'm currently in the market for a lift kit. I'm in a toss up for a 6" rough country but scared about the cutting part that it seems it needs on it. I'm also looking at the 4" tuff country which is just a simple lift. I really want the 6" with 37's but like I said I'm not sure how I really feel about the cutting the rear cross member. What would you guys recommend?

I really appreciate your input and happy to be driving a ram!

Welcome to the forum as one Black Express owner to another. Actually, until you post a picture of your truck we will assume you are lying to use about having one. ;)

Welcome to the forum.

I too am adverse to cutting any frame or support members but if the kit is built right, and the parts are made so as to replace that section with a new one that fits, then it should be OK.

I'm just leery of it I guess so all I do is up to 4" with no cutting. That's plenty tall for me as it is.

Good luck with your lift.

Truck looks great! I say, get what you want. Go with a 6"... Because of you go with a 4", you'll kick yourself later for not going with a 6". Zone makes a great lot and it's what I went with on mine. I've got a Zone 6" suspension with Zone 1.5" body lifts and 37's.
