Hi everybody,

I just bought my first 2018 Ram 1500 Express Quad Cab Hemi 4x4. I'm an apartment dweller so hard to work on my truck. I have a local 4WP (Melbourne, Fl) so I can have something installed. I'm on strict budget, so I was wondering if anybody out there has the Rough Country 2" Front Leveling Struts installed on their truck and provide some feedback. Thanks in advance

welcome.

We can offer the Eibach adjustable struts or the Rancho loaded, complete struts if interested. Both of these options are much better than the RC ones. Many state the RC ones do not ride good.

Welcome, Congratulations on your purchase!!! You have come to the right place. Read through the forums. You will go down a few rabbit holes in the process and learn a lot about how our trucks accept leveling kits. You’ll also learn that you get what you pay for. Keep in mind rough country’s marketing budget is 90% higher than their r&d budget

Eibach will be a lot better. And rancho as well. Definitely talk with nick as he gives great pricing and deals on parts. What is your budget and end goal for the truck? Are you looking strictly for looks or are you looking at using the truck for off-roading, towing/hauling as well? Welcome. Im in west palm beach.

@Quick_Shifter what's your personal favorite UCA?

OP: to do this right, you'll want UCA + struts...if on a budget, it's worth saving longer and doing it right the first time.

PS: welcome! :)

Core4x4 will be coming out with theirs soon. I have jba currently. I wanted the icon delta joints but it was not in the budget and my previous control arms were toast so I could not save for longer to get the icons. What you buy should be based on Your needs. South Florida I need a sealed joint so no sand or small grit gets in. The delta joint is essentially a really high angle ball joint. The jba arms use a modified ball joint that has been machined to allow high angle where it counts. Both use poly bushings at the frame side.

thanks i'll have to wait to see what core comes out with. i went with the rca because a handful of reputable places i saw do reviews actually said that while RC in general is a low budget option their UCAs were a deal for the money and they hadn't seen any problems with them. i also like the look of them honestly, a better match to the rest of the suspension. with so many people around here :****: :****: them i've started thinking about just replacing them. want more than need.

when i was researching these i came across plenty of mixed reviews for other common options. some people loved zone for example, others complained about them making noise. similar for a handful of other options. that got me nervous about some of them because it would drive me nuts. maybe they just weren't greased properly.

i'm OCD enough i want a sealed joint regardless, and honestly need it here due to a clay/sand mix that finds its way into everything and salt on the road in winter. those icons are amazing, but agreed the price is steep. jba's look really nice too. i'll probably run the RCs a bit longer and swap these out when i have nothing better to spend money on (which thanks to this forum will be awhile). :)

I had zone but found out that to much off-road flexing can tear the rubber bushing. Hence why I swapped to a free floating poly bushing type UCA like the jba or icons. The jba add caster. Nothing against zone. They were good.

That is a loaded question as they all have their own pros and not many cons. It really depends on the application, icon, carli, Fabtech, zone, ready lift, JBA, pro comp are all spec’d for their own reasons based on mostly budget
