So I come from the Jeep world. Had a few Cherokees, Grand Cherokee, Turbo LT1 Camaro, and a nice Dodge Dakota.
My current DD has been my 5 speed 92 Cherokee, I have put WAY too much time and money into this thing but its finally at the point where I would call it perfect. . . It has a few dings here and there but its a Jeep so who cares?
That's when I realized that I needed a truck. . .
I looked at the Chevy's but I never liked the interior or exterior, but I love the LS engine and the fact people strap cheap turbos on them and manage to get crazy hp numbers out of stock components.
I looked at the Ford's, but again, I don't like the exterior of the older models but the interiors are ok. My brother-in-law paid a premium for a low mileage 99 F150, it's currently suffering from misfires and has been a lemon from day one. Then I read about the 5.4 spark plug issues. . . Still, I was willing to look at 04+ F150's.
That's when I finally found a nice clean 98 Ram 1500 with the magnum 5.9. Exterior is clean, interior is in excellent shape for its age. 170K on the clock and it drives great with no issues yet. . . It does have a transfer-case leak but that it pretty easy to fix. It has skid plates and a tow package, now I just need to find out what its equipped with. No idea if the intake plenum has been done, I'm guessing no.
I look forward to learning from you all!
