New Ram, How to disable all the annoying electronics?

This is from a post from this very site by Sherman Bird. There are lots of others who have posted this as well as a ton of YouTube on it. In point of fact, if you had read the very first page of this actual thread you would have found this exact information. I generally won't look stuff up for guys, it really isn't that hard to search this forum. This is a one time pass cause you are new.

Seat belt turnoff:
1. With all doors closed and the ignition switch in the off position buckle the driver’s seat belt.
2. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position and wait for the Seat Belt Warning Light, and the other start up lights to turn off.
3. Within 60 seconds of turning the ignition switch to the
ON position, unbuckle and then re-buckle the driver’s
seat belt at least three times within 10 seconds, ending
with the seat belt buckled.
NOTE: Watch for the Seat Belt Warning
Light to turn on
while unbuckling and off while re-buckling the seat belt.
It may be necessary to retract the seat belt.
4. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position. A
single chime will sound to signify that you have successfully
completed the programming.

The Enhanced Warning System (BeltAlert) can be reactivated
by repeating this procedure.

This gets rid of the Ding but you still get the warning on the EVIC. A seat belt extender will get rid of both.

If the PCM believes the seatbelt is plugged in the truck won't go into Autopark when you open the door.

You can plug the seatbelt in behind you or use a seatbelt extender.

I use a one of these when I am backing up the travel trailer and have to jump in and out of the truck a few times or crack the door open to get a better view.

I bought one of these for my Tundra passenger seatbelt buckle and it worked perfectly.

I often used to carry a very heavy soft cooler on the passenger seat when traveling and you couldn't shut up the blasted dinger for the Tundra.

For cost & convenience, a seatbelt extender on the driver's seat is much easier.
Install it once and forget it.

Actually, you don't need to go that old. My 1996 Ram 2500 does not have most of this list and so does every pickup till they went to electronic dash boards.

I am also finding the Alpha OBD will solve a good number of the things on the wish list. You can shut TPM off, I just lowered the thresholds, I made it so the fogs stay on on high beam, the seat belt dinger is easy to defeat with the three belt lock system, and an extender defeats the open door lockout/slam into park nonsense. The warning chime can be made to a real low ding with the volume control on the radio. It also controls the loudness of the ding for screen selections, and the settings have a selection to turn off all beeps for screen choices as well as proximity sensors.

Turns out, if you know what you are doing, a lot of the wish list can easily be accomplished.

Turns out that the government saves us from ourselves. This all reminds me of seatbelt laws, helmet laws, etc. I'm QUITE aware that on many vehicles, you can hack the system and disable many so-called safety features. I personally like the TPMS on my vehicle because the tires look perfectly good at 18 PSI. I like to keep them at about 33. I do not like the slam it into park device, period. Seatbelt reminders, ehh, I'm neutral on those. High beams and driving lights at the same time will get you a ticket in Texas.

I went in to the dealership service department with the following list of modifications and they said they wouldn't do any of it because it was safety related. Do you guys think an independent shop would do this stuff for me? If it's even possible. (yes I have OCD)

-Disable seat belt not plugged in chirp
-Disable exterior back light from turning on @unlock and @Lock
-Disable dashboard lights from turning on @unlock and @door open
-Disable tire pressure sensors
-Disable turn signal clicking noise
-Lower volume of the warning indicator beep (or disable entirely)
-Set console and dashboard screens to 'screen off' mode by default

Not sure if you are serious. You dont wear a seat belt? Dont use the radio? Not sure what OCD has to do with all those things but then again, im not OCD.

Maybe, he's just sensitive to noises.

I rarely drive anywhere without a seatbelt yet I hate seatbelt dingers.
I recently had this car that as soon as you insert the key into the ignition, would instantly start this rapid and loud incessant dinging.

My RAM has no seatbelt nanny, and I like it that way.

I dont get seatbelt dings if i have it on. Only if i insert the key with the door open does it ding....which is good for when i get to work early and hang out in the truck for some time with radio on. Then when i open the door, it dings if the key is still in the ignition. I nice reminder a few times.

Like ram driver said. I wear my seatbelt every time I drive, but the moment I start my truck it loudly beeps like Im in an airplane and the seatbelt light is on. EVERYTIME I start the truck. And the moment I got the truck it was giving me THREE faulty sensor warnings that were constantly beeping and lighting up the dashboard.

And the moment I got the truck it was giving me THREE faulty sensor warnings that were constantly beeping and lighting up the dashboard.

That would be annoying, I agree. Mine don't do that thankfully.

Funny enough mine doesn't make a sound either, but then the extender is always in place and has been since the truck was a month old. Should take it out and see if it beeps at me when I first start it. If i use a belt and aren't off road or working in a field I don't buckle up till just before I put it in gear either.
