Feels like its been forever since I ordered my new 2500 Sagebrush CTD 6-speed manual, but it's only been since April 28... longest 6 weeks of my life maybe.

Followed the online process through production scheduled, frame, paint, trim, final inspection, shipping, etc. Delivery's taken a while, but I've confirmed that my truck will arrive on Friday June 8.

Am I crazy to take Friday off work to hang at the dealership and wait for the truck to arrive?

I've placed my first order - mostly protective items to start with a little dress-up (PW fender flares, rubber Ram logo mud flaps, chrome fuel door).

I also want to get some Husky floor liners (if the liners from my 2010 1500 don't fit - for some reason they have a different part number).

I'm looking at side window vents/deflectors and a bug guard.

Any other ideas are welcomed.

The excitement's been building - nearly intolerable at this point. Can't wait.

Hanging around waiting at the dealership is indeed crazy, but I'd probably do it anyway.

Sales manager said he's seen people follow the car hauler into the dealership... that's almost creepy... :signs16:

I would camp out the night before at the dealer.

If I ordered one, I would probably camp out at the dealer too. And then demand he let me drive it off the car hauler. Lol.

HA! I wonder if they'd allow that... I know I'll be shivering watching it come off of that car hauler.

I'm hoping that they can hurry the prep so I can drive her home that evening...

Ha Ha!

Not much to take off this one - just the Husky liners. Never got into modding this one but I have plans for the new one.

Of course you should take the day off and hang at the dealership. Why is it up for debate? LOL. I once drove 1,000 miles to buy the 15-year old Honda of my dreams with 39k miles on it. I think anybody on this forum would understand, and do the same as you. Make sure you post pics!

Shoot guys - I'm on the verge of insanity right now... tomorrow is allegedly the day... I'm hopeful the dealer prep won't lead to waiting another day...

Thanks for all the support in not making me feel "normal." Today some coworkers made it clear that they figured I was out of my mind to hang out at the dealership, but here the only debate is where should I pitch my tent on the lot tonight... :)

CRX: I know what you mean - I once drove 600 miles to buy and R/T without an engine.

Ha ha! I was a Ram nut since I was a kid and would watch Rick Simon drive that Orange Power Wagon across the TV screen LOL...

When I saw my first '94 Ram at the auto show, I HATED it - seriously but it was on a riser and the grille was at eye-level. I loved the truck whenever it was on the ground and owned one of the first in the area - that was back in the early days whenever you saw another "NEW" Ram, you waved to the guy and sometimes followed each other to a parking lot to compare your rides.

Sold the '94 Sport and bought a '97 4x4 in Bright Jade Satin Glow - ordered with the Laramie SLT package and 5-speed.

Gave that one to my brother 2 yrs ago when I bought my 2010 1500. I recently bought a new Challenger with the 6-spd and realized how much I missed shifting gears in my truck. I figured if I kept the '97 Ram for 13 yrs, I would probably keep a new CTD for 20 or even more...

I always wanted a 3/4 ton truck because it represented "all-in" when it comes to owning a pick-up truck. I don't want a giant car with a bed on the back - I want something that looks, sounds and drives like a truck.

Anyway, guess I've always been a Ram nut... I'm glad that these forums are here to bring us all together. It was a long and lonely wait for my 97 to be delivered. There was a newsgroup with 2 or 3 of us on there... but nothing like this site!
