Exactly, backend things could just lead the condensing of three consumer levels to two. Could also mean increasing capabilities of each level (1500, 2500, 3500 all move up in maximums) but would like to know exactly what that means to me if I bought a 2500 in the future that is rated for, say, 12,000 pounds. I would need to see Federal and state regs at that point in time to know.The GMs are rated at 10,650. You can order them derated, but it's the same truck with just a different sticker. Depending on where you live that might mean a non-derated 2500 has to be licensed and registered differently so I get where you're coming from.
The regulation thing is just paper work that can be changed by the government if we ever got to the point where all we had was electric 3/4 and 1 tons.
