New truck and new trailer!

Hey guys. Super stoked that we just got our first ram. We got a 3500 Cummins laramie mega cab srw.

We will be towing a 30 foot airstream.

My question is. Is it set up to go? Install the sway and leveling hitch and tow away? Just want to make sure if there is any other thing else I need to consider before we set off. Also I noticed that the bed does not have the fifth wheel holes. My trailer is not a fifth wheel. But just wondering is that usally something that is added. I would be under the impression that 3500 come standard with fifth wheel set ups.

Put the WDH on the units, inspect your trailer tire pressures, tank valves, etc..., load up your gear and hit the road!

The 5th wheel hitch prep package is an option. There are kits that can be added for a 5'vr hitch.

I might be off on this but I thought there was some reason mega-cabs weren't a good fit with 5th wheels. Maybe the beds are a bit shorter? I'm pulling from my memory bank of 5+ years ago when megas came out.

MegaCabs have the 6’4” bed, and reduced payload vs a CC short or long bed. That would be the only draw back. But it’s a 3500 STW, payload is likely 4K or higher.
