Ah, Thread count makes sense. I got a new 5.7 T.Chain set, but was just wondering if I could have done better for same price when I made the comment. As I said too got 6.1 Oil pump same time.

Danny,
What did you find out about the 6.1 oil pump? Is it the same as a 5.7 or is it a hi-flow version? Is it a direct replacement?

Thanks,

The oil pump is a direct replacement..... the filter is a deff no and the timing chain I have no idea would have to check with an engine builder.

6.1 Oil pump apparentely fits just fine, apparentely same 4 (not 100% sure) bolts but am guessing that all I have to do is wiggle it away from the pickup tube which is supposed to slide in same way into the new 6.1 pump, but maybe have to loosen the oil pan in front, don't know. Last time no oil pan removal. All I can say Red is its gonna be 51 bucks to find out. Will take pics and let you know for sure if it fits when i do it along with dealer part # for the pump as I know you're prolly thinkin the same thing when you do your Cam. I can't remember where i got the idea, (kenneth maybe and some search on other forums) heck its a long day as I am doin a changeover at work and my replacement has alot of questions as the info he is gettin is like drinking from a Firehose. LOL. I'm degressing and the motherin law is here from down east and talkin while I'm typin, gotta go turn down the A/C as she is cold.

Kenneth any news on your Cam? Yesterdays email no reply, and phoned got full mail box.

Later.

Danny,
Found this on Inertiamotorsport/6.1L Oil Pump

6.1L Oil Pump as an upgrade from the weak stock 5.7L Oil Pump. We recommend this upgrade for any 5.7 based stroker, or stock block 5.7L motor installed when installing one of our camshafts.
Motors
Apparently a very good upgrade.

Well there you go, my Crazy Spartan will be happy with a new chain and upgraded pump. Thanks Kenneth and Greg for the reference, so I guess its a done deal. :grd:

P.S. Although not a problem on my Truck but maybe its a remedy for that Hemi Tick Thing!

Stu shipped my cam out yesterday on 08-17-10 so I should be game for my install this weekend. I still had a slight tick with custom cut rods, we will see how the 6.1 rods act with the new cam and see if they eliminate the tick. I also got a base tune from Sean so I will be able to crank up the truck and play with it some.

The 6.1 rods might help you with the tick. When I installed them the tick went away on my truck.

It was pretty bad on my truck before I changed to the 6.1's. After the swap I can't hear it at all even with the cutout closed.

With all the stock stuff it was louder and the number 7 exhaust rod was gaulled at the bottom, the fordged ones is a slight sound but nothing to bad.

Yeah, the stock parts make a lot of noise. It is almost embarrassing how loud the tick can get on some trucks.

Update: My Luckey Day, Got Bob to answer the phone and we had a long chat!. My Cam supposidly shipped out by STU today. Bob is really behind in his work (go figure) and is in the Middle of an Infrastructure Relocation (MOVED his SHOP). He also said that the CTD Handle fellow over on DT (I think) is helping him out on the Customer Service side of the house and his name is Shelby (as pointed out earlier) by Jeremy.

So I should have it then in a week to 10 days.

That combo is going to make your truck run good man.

Its alright with the parts, I'll just order them tomorrow and have them here in about 3 days for all of about $4-$5 more than the price at moes after my refund gets processed, he never responded to anything, even when paypal tried to contact him. Im just not going to order from him anymore. Even if he did relocate to a new shop or was backed up or whatever the case maybe, a simple auto reply that your order might take longer than expected due to whatever or even a warning on his site with a bulliten that said orders might take longer to _____ would have been better than no responce at all.
