I thought my "low tire" light came on due to the cold, but it actually came on because of the studded tires. Seems I "studded" both of them with some metal I picked up somewhere on the road. One chunk is as big around as a screwdriver shank. I still have the factory Wrangler HPs and was going to replace them next year anyway, so didn't see much point in paying to patch these. Particularly when it looks like it might be multiple punctures.

$902 + tax for a set of four didn't seem too bad. About $320 more than Wrangler SR-As, but everything I read seems to indicate the Terra Grapplers will be better in bad weather.

I don't post much here as I honestly don't know much. Better to listen then talk when you're in that position. :) But, since this might be of interest to folks I'll update how I think the tires compare to the OEMs once I've got some miles on them.

I just put a set on my truck a week ago . So far I like them . I went with the 275-65-20 with the 116 load rating not the 10ply 126. I replaced a 35-12.50-20 BFG with these. I can see by the tread design they should be good in bad weather compared to the GYs. I have not found a bad review and I bet I had read close to a hundred before I bought. The other reason was they measured 34.09" diameter and the BFGs I replaced were 34.5" so not a big difference and these are load rated the same as the OE GYs so they ride much better than the 10 ply BFGS and 20lbs lighter per tire.

Also looking at these. Not looking for a 10 ply as I think it is overkill for how I use the truck. I have bilsteins front and back with the fronts set to 2.1 and now have a 1" spacer in the rear. Can you guy's post what they cost you if you don't mind? Not seeing any deals as of late and not sure I want to buy online just in case there is a balancing issue with one as I've seen some post with other tires. I need a brick and mortar to be able to go back to if there are any issues.

275-65-20 ( SL rated as the OE's are ) came to 12 something mounted and balanced. I try to use locals any more just in case of an issue like I just had. Its nice to have the installer on your side. Road force balancing helps to because it's not just your or their opinion any more its Hunters. I have found over the years that if I find them on line this place is either the same or so close its sure worth having a human in front of you and helping you. I used to buy all on line and mount them myself if I bought wheels and let them balance them and each time they said they would do it for that price. I have called their bluff for a while and they stood behind what they said price wise . Its a more comfortable feeling and if their is a problem its resolved the next day

I bought mine a few months ago when they were on 20% sale that Discount Tire matched... I liked them at first but now I'm noticing a pretty distinct hum at speed which is kinda annoying. I don't think I would buy them again given the chance. Prob stick with Toyo's if I had it to do over again.

I was going to get these also, but opted for the BF KO2s, based on the steep discount they had. We have people that plow with the Grapplers and do well.

I replaced the Kumho KL 71 in 35 12.50 20's that came on the truck with BFG All Terrain KO2s in the stock size. So far I like them a lot. Got them for $939 shipped, and also got a $70 mail in rebate at the time, which was nice.

The 275-65-20 , 116 load rated is the same SL (4ply) rating that the 275-60-20 OE Good Years on a 1500.

EDIT . My mistake I think the OE tires have a 114 load rating so these nittos have a slightly higher load rating at 116 . how much difference that is who knows. The 10 ply Nittos were I think 126.

Exactly what I'm looking at. Liking the 4 ply so far Gary?

Ah, didn't realize - was only thinking of the LT/truck tires I guess :). Seems P Metric's are typically considered for SUV or light use, ie no towing, only on paved roads, etc - but assuming one stays withing the guidelines, and follows the corresponding increase requirement in load rating, they should be fine for general driving I suspect. They will certainly be lighter which would increase mileage. That and cost is probably why OEM's will use them on 1500's from the factory.

That and if they support all a 1500 is rated for , rides good , and less money , win win . If ya need to haul more or tow enough the tires are an issue ya probably could use a truck that comes with 10plys more along the lines of a 2500. Besides better tires ya also get bigger brakes to stop the added weight plus a 6.4 , basically a truck designed to match the 10 ply tires.

It took away a high speed vibe I had with the 10plys. I run like 35-6psi in front and 34-5 in rear . So far its probably been the most sensible move I have made since buying the truck . Sucks taking off almost $1500.00 worth of tires with less than 6,000 miles on them but I had run out of ideas to get this thing to ride better. Keep in mind I also have almost as light of a truck as you can get too being a RCSB so 10plys really effect me more than a heavier CC.
