No brake lights with key off

Hi everyone. Brand new to the group. I know this is an old thread but I have a 2005 ram 2500 with this same brake light problem that it seems a lot of people have but can’t seem to figure this one out. I have no brake lights with the key off but I do with it on but no 3rd brake light. But when I squeeze the brake lever over on my trailer brake box all the lights work as they should. I have checked the fuses, disconnected the controller and even replaced the brake light switch with no improvement. This one really has me confused. Thanks in advance for any help and suggestions I can get.

My 2016 3500 was the same way, brake lights didn't work with key off , I assumed that's the way it was supposed to be . Just got a 2022 1500 Warlock will check them if I can remember ,lol .
