No more chrome bumpers

One of my most important detailing activities is fixing chrome pieces when they are scratched and/or won't shine up. Now California is working to make chrome work illegal. It got me thinking, is there another way to fix chrome that looks pretty decent? I have put black bumper guard over problem areas.

Most of them just go to TJ when they have a few to be fixed

With the chemicals involved in chrome plating, I'm surprised it even is legal as of now.

chrome and anodizing process is very dirty. It will be a matter of time before it's very restricted nation wide. 5 years from now it will be a thing of the past. I don't know of a good process to fix Chrome besides redipping. Not many place on the west coast do it I know a lot of car guys ship parts to the east coast or midwest.

I live in upstate NY most places around me have gone out of business, It involves allot of acids and chemicals to replate a chrome bumper, it's quite a procedure and very costly, my brother use to do it for a big local company.
