I did some drag racing in the 90's. 1969 Chevelle. Several engines but most potent was a 650HP 468. Also had a stock LS5 in it and a 500HP 327. 1957 Chevy had a 552HP 393 SBC.

Those are some beautiful toys Dhay.I ran a 68 Z in the 80's that went 10.7's with a nitrous fed 433 BB,car ended up in a couple hotrod mags in the early 80's.Best attention getter was when I had a 6-71 Dyers blown 355 in it,car picked up girls to beat hell with the blown smallblock, lol.I actually met my wife because of it,had a buddy who had started dating a gal,and we were going to a carshow, the girl he was dating asked if her sister could come along, being a young single horndog,i said sure, her sister came home with me that night and never left,we've been married 34 years this year, lol

Figured you'd figure out who I was pretty soon, lol

Hahah yeah. Like I said before you're a wealth of knowledge. This is Luis Schmitzberger, Jr from all the Ram pages!

Yeah I really hope to get the geometry dialed in before she gets a big power increase.

Very cool! My first car was a 1972 Cutlass S my grandfather bought in 1973 and drove until he died in 1981 then my aunt got it. I got it from her in 1985 in bad shape for $200 and fixed it up. So my first 'cool car' was a 1970 Olds W31. Started getting into drag racing and didn't want to tear that car up so bought a 1966 Chevy II but that never got finished. While working on that found the Chevelle from a guy named John Kunsak. It was an IHRA national record holder in the late 70's. It was a plain Malibu but he made it a COPO replica to run the 427. I bought the body and frame. Nothing else. Had 17,000 original miles on it. Put the stock LS-5 in it with 3.73 and powerglide. All the wrong parts but it's what I had laying around. Ran 12.96 at 103. Over the following winter built a THM-400 and 4.10's with 11" TCI convertor. Ran 12.95 at 102...lol. Then a buddy from Pittsburgh called me. He had a Ford EXP with a 509 BBC but his old 454 was up for sale so I bought it. It ran 10.70's a week earlier in a 1964 Chevy II. Ran it a few time and broke a few valve springs so pulled it apart and rebuilt it. Had a full roller with a Lunati .690 lift cam with about 270-280* duration @.050 lift. Only ran 11.69 at 116 running horrible. Turns out I broke a link bar on the roller lifters and wiped 2 lobes off the cam. I had a 327 with all machine work done sitting in the house for the Chevy II so put that together for the Chevelle. It had a Crower roller with .630 lift. Ran 12.50's or something in it. I had the THM400 with 8" ATI convertor with the big motors. RPM range was 4500-8500 on the 454...lol. I only ran it to 8000.
Then I ended up with the '57 with no motor or trans. Built a de-stroked 406 SBC with splayed caps, Sommers bros gear drive, AFR aluminum heads, Comp Cams roller (can't remember the specs). Dyno'd at 552HP at 6500 RPM on pump gas. 10.7:1 compression. Never raced that one.

Back in the 90's I ran around with a few guys that ran the fastest streetcar in America tour. Kenny Anderson had a 1979ish Malibu with a blown, alcohol injected 572 Donovan aluminum block that ran 6's or 7's on street tires and through the exhaust. Can't remember now. It was powder blue. There are youtube videos of it with the new owner.

Want to hear a good one? Wife knew a guy that made personalized plates. She got 1 made for me and 1 for my buddy for his '72 Chevelle. Mine said 1WILD1 (play on your username). The other plate said 1WCKD1. I'll see if I can find some pics with that plate. I had the Chevelle from about 1992 to about 1997. Had the W31 from about 1988 to 1991 (bought it from the original owner in 1988 for $700)
