Must be you own two RAM's. I was going by information under your screen name.FYI, my 2014 is a 3.0 ltr EcoDiesel with the 8-Spd 8HP70.
I would proceed with what I posted previously. Even if not towing, at that mileage a fluid / filter service certainly is the appropriate thing to do. IMO even if it was done once at 60,000 it is due for a second service. Not knowing it's service history as well as the type of service the truck has seen would prompt me to get on it pretty soon.
Food for thought. Somewhere in the internet galaxy there is a ton of forum posts from a guy who has a 3.0 RAM similar to OP's. He struggled with very high transmission Temps. for a long time. Much higher than what we are discussing here. I think it spanned over four years. He had multiple visits with his dealer, conversations with FCA and also with ZF Nothing was resolved and he was told that the transmission was operating within acceptable parameters in regards to Temp.
Problem was finally resolved by replacing the thermal management unit on the transmission. I believe an independent shop finally got to the bottom of the issue and fixed it for him.
One of the things I found interesting is that this guys transmission ran EXTREMELY hot for four years and survived. He towed with it and lived in the south as well. Far as I can tell once the issue was corrected it did the "Everready Bunny " thing. Throughout the entire experience as I recall he did do a fluid changesat least once and I think maybe twice.
Maybe something to be said there in regards to doing fluid changes. His screen name was captain.......?
