bought a 2014 Laramie Limited with the factory tow option. I am really not a fan of the tow mirrors.

A 56K truck that does not have power folding mirrors...nice one FCA.

If I buy a replacement mirror/window module for the door controls, and the non-tow power folding mirrors, is there anything else I need to do to step down to the non-tow mirrors?

They (dealer) would need to program the power fold option. You will also need the switch in the driver door.

IIRC the 2500 series has power tow mirrors that you can retrofit onto the 1500s. There are a few threads on here that outline how to do it.

Not a fan of mine either. I’d love to have black paint matched factory sport mirrors.

Some of the trucks didn't have power fold mirrors but they can be added as AFMoulton indicated.

I like my powerfold mirrors.

I never wanted folding mirrors till I got this 2500. I’ve whacked them a few times and I keep them down. I’ve also smacked the order screen in sonic with both mirrors and once with my grill gaurd since I got it on. I drive by feel :bleh:

I have done the same to my own mailbox and at Sonic LOL. Fortunately at low enough speed that no damage occurred. [emoji1]

Yup. Hell I forgot I've whacked the gate entry pad too. Luckily no damage......yet. I’m waiting for one of my cows to ram it hopefully the bed so I can get a flat bed :boxing:

I love my tow mirrors that don't fold. I just don't park next to another lifted Ram that doesn't have the mirrors folded in tight parking spaces. The other non-lifted, I just slide on in and watch my mirror glide right over theirs.

Admittedly, I wouldn't mind having powerfold mirrors. Once again, you guys have not failed to put another mod idea in my head.

Ok, done hijacking your thread OP. As indicated, good news is you can modify this problem out of existence, but you are right, tow mirrors should just come with the powerfold option. It's a no brainer...

my '16 2500 Ram Limited doesn't have the power tow mirrors, just manual tow mirrors, the power ones would be nice. Do you know the cost?

I don't mind the way they look but they really do stick out a lot. I have toyed with the idea of switching them out for regular mirrors, especially when I drive to work and have to navigate our building parkades small twisty entrance and exit.

Window sticker says the option is an additional $195 over the price of a pair of mirrors that are included in the tow package. It doesn't say what the mirrors cost individually.
