OEM Battery Life

Have a friend of mine who has a 09' ram 1500 quad cab with the 5.7 V8. He has 80K on it and still has the original battery in it. He lives in PA so the truck sees all climates. That's got to be a record.

I just had to replace mine a few days ago at 64k. 2017 bought as a demo in 7/17 with 5k miles on it. Not sure when it was put in service as a demo at the dealer. I got 2.5 years out of it.

Mine made it just about 5 years in Arizona. Can't complain.

i have a 2004 ram 1500 that i bought in 2009 and rollin with the same battery that looks to be original.unless it was replaced in the first 5 yr. before i got it.how can you tell?even still i've had it for 11 yrs. live in north east,84,000 mi. on truck

Mine failed back in January, less than 2.5 years since I drove it off the lot new. Around 31k miles. Dealer replaced it under 3/36 warranty.

I had a 2006 300c with the Hemi that lasted 9 years, and i had just hit 90k miles.
My 2017 Ram 3.6 just hit 70k with the original, knock on wood.

I have a 2012 ram whith 65,000 and far as I know it steel has the OEM battery in it an going strong so far

Not a ram, but my moms 06 explorer is on its 2nd battery, amd that's lasted almost 9 years. Of course the cars only got 60k on it

My 2015 Ram has the original battery in it still. 165,000 miles/265,000km on it seeing everything from -40° starts in winter to 100° in summer.

It draws 60 Amp continuous from the class D mono sub amp, 90 Amp burps since you guys are so concerned about the 180 amp alternator!

Yes, 2014 was the last quality truck set Ram made IMO. Unlocked PCM, robust components before they started penny pinching to the max.
