I found a truck I am interested in and it has the off road package... Will that affect the towing? Wish it didn't have it, but want to make sure it won't affect me towing anything?? Thanks and appreciate it you all!!

Good question. I don't know if Ram just throws an off-road decal on it and calls it good or if they actually set up the suspension more for off road. If they do, it would be a little softer and could reduce payload capacity. I'm pretty curious myself and anxious to hear what they say.I found a truck I am interested in and it has the off road package... Will that affect the towing? Bilstein shocks too. My current off road package truck also sits 1" higher than my regular 4x4 did. No adverse effects towing whatsoever.AFAIK the off-road package adds skid plates and some A/T tires. You could always remove the skid plates and add their weight to your payload.
That's about it.
So what does hill descent do? I have it but it doesn't seem to do anything unless I'm using it wrongI have it on my 1500..the hill descent feature is nice to have and the shocks make it ride better.

I dont think you have to be off road.
Engine brake and trailer tow mode will downshift the transmission sooner while braking to help hold you back on the hill.woops..I guess something other than hill descent is in play when I am going down a steep mountain road and tap the brakes. I just thought that was hill descent. will have to check that out..probably engine braking..
Going down an unplowed steep road in about 2' of snow. A long time ago, in a land far, far away, we had a snow storm and the cops closed off the hill by the gas station I worked at. Put my F-150 in 4H drove around the cops and went right up the hill. They knew me and they stopped by the next day & we had a little conversation. LOL.... They weren't impressed!!!!Vehicle has to be in 4LO for hill descent control to work. I can't imagine using 4LO is any situation other than off road.
