I was looking through the official time slip thread and I had some questions.. How are you 4wd guys getting into the 8's n/a?? I broke a 10 flat at the 1/8mile with a tuner.. I would like to get quicker.. 8's second runs quicker.. Can some of you guys that ran In the 8's and 9's chime in.. Thanks

There's only Two 4x4's running in the 8's,
Both are Reg Cab Short Box

and only one is NA, grey chevy, mod's are in his sig :

2012 Black SC 4x4 1500 Hemi ARH longtubes, Vararam intake, Circle-D 3000,
Moe's 87mm throttle body, efan, 2010 frontend swap/4.56 gears, HemiFever tune.

He also did some serious weight reduction and ran in negative DA.

------------------------------------------------------------------

My 10' RCSB 4x4 did 8.81 seconds NA with 3.55's,
Intake, catback, 93 tune and four 28" drag radials on 17's (2500' DA)

With a Ripp supercharger and shorty headers I did the 1/8th in 8.27
but the trans took a dump after that, haven't been back since.

That sucks.. Supercharger is out of the question till they come out with parts for the 8 speed transmission.. I wouldn't mind a turbo.. But I'm still in the same predicament

the fastest NA 4x4 with 4 doors is Trupiano,

9.741 @ 74.45 - 2012 1500 CCSB 4wd 5.7L - N/A - Trupiano - 9/30/12

Its going to take a LOT of mods to get a 4x4 Bus into the 8's NA
Re-gear to 4.56's, LT headers, no cats, lightweight 17" wheels and drag radials on all four corners, and some serious weight reduction.

Have you had yours on the scales yet?
a 4x4 Laramie must run over 6000lbs

I'm about 5100-5200 lbs in track trim on my track tires.

I'm not sure what gears I have.. If I swapped out gears wouldn't I have to get my tranny tuned?? That isn't available for me yet.. It might never be available.. Sad face

I'm not sure what gears I have..

1500 Laramie 4x4 comes standard with 3.21 gears with the 8 speed, open rear diff
3.92's are an option for $95, limited slip is an extra $525 (locally)

I think you can get a build sheet (window sticker) from your dealer if you provide them with a VIN.

Bone stock '14 sport...

I'm rather jealous of the 8 speeds. Bone stock they are faster than my nodded 5 speed. I'm planning to look at a used 13 or a new 14 on friday

Cam swap is just as easy on the Hemi, it's the damn tuning support holding us back.

Time of year and location of the track help a lot too. I know of another bone stock truck in Texas with 8spd/3.55s that ran 9.15 in the 1/8, that's pretty much a guaranteed 14.1 in the 1/4.
