Ok, so doing a 3 inch lift on my 06 1500. Putting 35-12.5R17s on it. Trying to figure out what offset I need. I would like about 1.5 to 2 inches of tire hanging out. Any help would be much appreciated.

Part of it will depend on how wide of wheels you go with.
Are you familiar with customoffsets.com?
https://www.customwheeloffset.com/wheel-offset-gallery

They have a huge gallery you can do advanced searches of trucks: year, make, model; wheel size, tires size. Even trucks with different lift height. You can get an idea of what tire/wheel/offset gives the look that you want. You can even message them to get their advice on what you are looking for. I'm getting ready to make a purchase from them. Great friendly staff. They also have a plethora of YouTube videos on just about any topic you want to know about with lifts, wheels, tires, fitment. You should definitely be able to find the look you are wanting from the huge gallery of other trucks.
They are also not far from you, Out of Wisconsin.

Also there is a great write-up that someone posted that gives a lot of good info on lifts & Levels,
https://www.ramforum.com/threads/guide-to-leveling-wheel-and-tire-sizing-for-06-4wd-ram-1500s.70918/
It is a pretty long extensive article, a long read, but really great info.

That should give you a good start on what to look for, the look you are wanting.
I've been doing a lot of research for myself the last couple of months.

Let me know if you have any other questions,
Rich
