Sorry folks probably a dumb question but I want this truck to last forever. I just replaced the oil filter housing on a 2019 Dodge Ram 1500 with 3.6. All of the oil and coolant was drained prior to removal of the housing. My question now is when I refill the oil and coolant to the proper levels, is it okay to just start the vehicle or should I be putting oil or coolant somewhere as a primer. Im worried to start it when it was dry for a couple weeks already. Like should I pour oil down where the oil filter is? Thanks in advance.

As far as the coolant goes, just leave the cap off so it does not build pressure and watch the level as the truck warms up, as it purges the air out the level will change, may need to add a little more... the oil is simple, if you put the gas pedal all the way to the floor when you try to start the truck, (flood mode) it will not start, just spin over, do that twice or so should build up pressure for when you do start it.
