Oil change light doesn’t come on

My oil change light has been pretty reliable and comes on between 5k and 6k miles but this last time the light never came on and I was over 7500+ miles when I checked it. Any idea why it would stop working?

Does your truck not have an oil life indicator in the EVIC?



Oil change intervals are an "educated guess" from the truck's computer, it's not based on a specific number of miles. It takes into account idle time, engine temperature, run cycles, etc.

I change mine every spring and fall regardless of mileage. Oil is cheap, engines are not.

My truck is a 2010 and doesn’t have that option on the evic. I’m wondering if pulling the fuse for the pcm for a previous issue may have reset it?

Still curious about this, will pulling the PCM fuse and doing a reset cause the oil change light to reset as well?
