It looks like it sits pretty low--is there any protection for it?

It sits above the bottom of the tow hooks by 1/2” and tight to that support column. I was debating on raising it an inch higher on the frame. Might get come 1/4” angle and run it across the front of the column

Yes, I do. if that's a question.
I know I do, if that's a hint.
My comment was written as I wasn't 100% sure the pan was laying on the steering hoses at the time I wrote the post.

Why would you have hoses then? Did you mean the rack?

I am also tired of wearing oil or making a big mess when removing the oil filter. I have also tried the plastic sack or plastic zip lock bag method with mixed results.
A few months ago I came across this on Mopar parts online. It is a 45° oil filter adapter for the 5.7L Hemi, they claim it is only for the 5.7L crate motors only. Does anyone know if there is enough clearance for this to be used on our Rams with the 5.7L HemiScreenshot_20190325-152253_Samsung Internet.jpg

I don’t think this will fit. No way to bolt it in either. Maybe if the sandwich oil cooler was removed possibly you could fit it but still need to know if there are holes to bolt this in to
