Nice pictures! My new wix has those same markings on the baseplate i believe to! Looks the same except obviously the xp is black. And the centertube has holes instead of the cheese grater lookin thing, whats better do we know?
Supposedly the cheese grater style center tube turns the flow of oil into the engine better than the holes, but I don't think it really matters much IMO

I dont think so either as i have some old wix xp filters that are cheese grater center tubes and most that are holed center tubes. I emailed wix for efficiency ratings. Im hoping its been upgraded or something.

No problem. Unfortunately still a rock catcher at 99% efficiency at 35 microns and they refused to tell me efficiency at 20 microns. They said if i want a 20 micron filter to buy the wix 51372

I also found that the srt efficiency rating is 90% at 10 microns!

Sounds Wix-ish.
Royal Purple and Fram Ultra still best.

Haven't found studies of actual test results of particulates. Yeah, there's lab data, but I mean actual application data.
How much extra engi e durability is provided between best oil filters and marginal oil filters? It is well established that small abrasives wear metal surfaces. But what does that translate to? An extra 5 miles or 100,00 miles of engine life?

If not very much, then rock catchers would be fine.

Would be nice if there was some long term data

Couldn't we use the same argument for using synthetic versus conventional oil? What's the point? Wix is so bad it lets near sand size particles run around your engine. Sand = 74 Microns. Every other filter shown is 30 microns isnt getting through. Rock catcher is about right, everything else gets through. Hard to believe srt settled on this filter, unless you subscribe to the idea they don't want those vehicles to last as long as they should because their business model requires new sales.
