“Oh yeah!"
He is called Baba Yega. The boogeyman? Not exactly, more like the one you send to kill the freaking Boogeyman! Always could understand that character.

Like Clint, "Did you ever meet someone you realized you shouldn't have screwed with? Well that's me!" As he whips out the Colt 45.

I ordered/rec’d a case of Baldwins from the jungle. Good price. Made in USA by US company, Parker-Hannifin, a quality mfr’r of aviation and etc parts. Pretty Red color.
I am amused that 176 pages of discussion over a simple thing as spin-on oil filters even exists. For decades engines had NO oil-filters…then had oil SCREENS…finally someone used toilet paper and then Fram made spin ons a universal simplicity. There’s No Rason to over-think this!
Engines are not harmed by particles as large as 20 microns and ALL these filters catch stuff bigger than that.
This case of 8 Baldwin filters will outlive me and my grandkids will likely be installing them… my problem is keeping them sealed from Rusting until they can be installed.
Doh.
:p

I wonder…. Will purple oil-dye still be purple in 15 years…or will it degrade to pink…. and if DNA-research can clone a Dinosaur…. will that mean that Dino-Oil will be called “synthetic”…??

On a serious note: The research folks who were involved with the first successful clone were having a "thinktank" meeting one afternoon.
One of the scientists had a brilliant epiphany: To approach Kareem Abdul-Jabbar about cryogenically preserving his DNA for the future, postulating that this would ensure the future of elite athletes. They contacted the super athlete and pitched their proposal, to which, Kareem said: "I'll think about it and get back to you".
A couple of weeks later, the esteemed basketball star called and said, that after careful consideration, he had to decline the offer.

When asked why, the athlete responded: "I don't want there to be Ice Kareem Clones!. :Big Laugh:

On my 2019 classic, there is a channel from front that runs under the exhaust manifold back to where the filter sits. That is the way I come at it with prefilled filter w/o spilling oil.

It will get messy taking old one off. Best to get tray to turn it over and dump the oil first.

Speaking for myself, and maybe others, I would like to see a list here of perfered filters, even filters that have got/getting axed (maybe people can find them still sitting on some store shelf). In my search the Purolator Boss filters seem to be a USA thing???
But I have found the Fram XG2 filter still up here on shelves.
Also, on Frams site there are 2 other premium synthetic oil filters, are they as good? (This info may be on this thread, but I think it would be a journey to find, up to a few pages now)

I will say I am subbed to a number of threads on this site, this, the oil one, the transmission filter and change ones, etc, etc. Just saying, I greatly appreciate all the minds on this forum and the wealth of information and knowledge passed around. Thanks fellas!!!

Good idea ill try and help!

Current favorites that I would recommend are
1)purolator boss 24651 is the bigger srt filter
2)carquest EP 80372
3)fram ultra xg2 get em while you can since they went bankrupt due to first brands ownership-this also affects other filters
4)fram titanium fs2 same goes here
5)wix xp 51372 and 57899-same size filters but 51372 has higher bypass pressure
6)mobil 1 210a-well made synthetic blend filter.
7)fleetguard lf16002 awesome choice with high efficiency 100% at 24 microns IIRC

Old favorites
1)royal purple 20-820-if you can find them get them, however ive recently been made aware of a "ruffled leafspring" issue in these and other champ labs made filters. The issue prevents proper sealing of the bypass valve so it may operate in partial bypass all the time. No way to know without cutting it open but it began to pop up in 2025 for sure maybe 2024. Champ labs is bankrupt as they to were owned by first branda
2)amsoil eaO11-same as royal purple, amsoil is currently looking for new suppliers, stay tuned
3)fram synthetic endurance fe2-amsoil/royal purple filter with fram label-same issue as the others
