According to bitog folks, the Mobil one filers made in viet nam are great quality. The actual filtering specs are a bit lacking. 30 microns at ? Percent. At one point they did. They have been mann hummell for years but switched to highline warren. Highline is making them to the same specs as mann hummell but id bet build quality is better
Part# P550794
Yes by highline warren. Better quality built to the same effeciency standards as the mann hummel version which is 99% at 30 microns. ZeeOsix on bitog is probably the best source for all filter info IMOAccording to bitog folks, the Mobil one filers made in viet nam are great quality. I just ordered a 760 for my 6.4. once I get my wear metals where I want them I may try this filter with Amsoil. I currently have a ****load of Champ XL filters and Pennzoil while I'm under warranty so I'm changing every 2k until I hit 10k then I'll stretch it out to 3 or 4k depending on wear metals. I live up north and do some towing and hauling.I wish the ppe740 fit the 5.7 ram but its a bit to long. It might fit my durango but width is the concern with the durango
Sweet! I think the 760 will fit these trucks better but i like the media of the 740. regardless efficiency is wildly good for both and i believe they are PGI filters. They claim down to 5 or 10 microns but id love to know the percentageI just ordered a 760 for my 6.4. once I get my wear metals where I want them I may try this filter with Amsoil. I tried asking the donaldson guys im lake speeds livestream he did with them to build a donaldson blue for our trucks but they never read my questions lolWe were discussing synthetic filtration media filters. That is not synthetic media. They won't specifically state the media - by the efficiency stated, it is paper. When you screen results by synthetic media, there is no will-fit Donaldson filter.

I stand corrected the media on that particular filter is cellulose. 17micron nominal , 40 micron absolute. It's the Blue filters that use a proprietary synthetic.
Yeah, and I don't know if it really does anything but it has a magnet inside too! If nothing else, you can open it up after changing oil like a cracker jack box.Sweet! Maybe if we all write to them , they'll pay attention.I tried asking the donaldson guys im lake speeds livestream he did with them to build a donaldson blue for our trucks but they never read my questions lol
That filter is a great blend filter made by PGI. Efficiency is 99.5% @20 microns and it has a silicone gasket which ive never seen beforeI'm tired of stressing about oil filters, then making a decision, only to find out after one or two uses, the filter composition totally changes and is not the filter it once was.
I've decided to go with STP Extended Life in the gold package. The specs look good, the pleats look better than the Fram I've been using, they are available less than two miles from my house, and cheaper priced.
I only run my oil 6k anyway, and oil samples look good.
I've decided I have too many other things to stress about. I will still stress some about the filters, but not near as much as before. Both the 3.6 and 5.7 engines are either going to last, or eat up the cams, no matter what filter is in it.

Yup thats the one!!Is that Premium Guard brand? I've been using them on the Harley. They visually appear to be very well constructed. I haven't cut one open, but metal tube with clearly visible open holes, wire screen, etc.
But the Harley engine is the least of my concerns, compared to the truck, car, and tractor that see way more hours of run time.
Based on the pictures i found of the stp extended life its a PGI filter for sureActually STP filters were made by Champion labs until recently since they've gone out of business. It'll be interesting to see who picks up the slack since Fram no longer exists and Champ made a slew of OEM and brand name filters like RP, Amsoil, and STP.
IIRC absolute at one time could be classified as anything over 96.6% but also lot of other factored are also involved like at what micron is the media rated for or at i.e. 5 micron, 25 micron ect ect...One thing that would be nice is a requirement to state whether their micron rating is absolute or nominal. (nominal is only 50%,even absolute is less than 90%). That's according to one of the Engineers from Donaldson.
