I suspect with twin turbos, low flow restriction is even more critical to keep the bearings not only lubed, but cooled.
For decades turbos were sleeve bearings, then they switched to ceramic ball bearings for lower friction but they broke from fatigue like most ceramics. So I had read they are back to sleeve bearings. Or journal bearings, if you prefer.
Therefore, synthetic oil is critical for lower friction, higher heat resistance, and flow rate is important too. Any of these newer engines are being pushed - unlike the old sloppy V8 hogs of yore.
