I would like to install a remote oil filter. The only location handy to the original oil filter location that I see is inside the front frame extension on the front passenger side. Does this sound feasible or another suggestion?

That's where I mounted it on my last 4th gen. It made changing oil a breeze. Went to install one on our 5th gen and it's not quite as accommodating a spot.

You would be money ahead if you check out improved racing products, for a remote oil filter adapter and receiver. The pacbrake kit hoses and connectors while well made have some fairly sharp bends which in some instances have impacted oil psi.

Stay away from the Pac Brake kit,as it might be well made, but it's a very poor design. I started with a single filter relocation, then moved to a dual filter set-up,that uses big ole 30-8 Royal Purple filters. The dual set-up is superior to the single set-up,as i gained oil pressure when i switched to dual filters, and oil temps went down

Rick, any help with links or who makes that kit you're using?

Does the duct work behind your frame rail go to your air box?

It's a modded 1227 Transdapt kit Mike.I upgraded it to -10 (5/8") hoses and high flow fittings, and i ported it by rounding off all the sharp edges i could get to with a die grinder and carbide bit. I hate sharp edges in the oiling system, lol.
In hindsight i'd just buy the filter adapter and the relocation mount, and then make up the hoses.

If you wanted to stay with a 22mm X 1.5 filter this would be the one to order. Not sure why you'd stick with the 22mm thread pitch filters though,as there's more 3/4X16 filters in a bigger size filter

Thanks Rick! I've used the single filter Transdapt kit in the past. It works fine but my biggest concerns had to do with the hoses. I never say any difference in oil pressure with that kit though.

I started with the single kit,and it wasn't till i went to the dual kit that i noticed an increase in pressure Mike. The single kit was basically identical to the stock filter even with the bigger 30-8A filter

I bought a remote kit from Radco truck parts, for my 2015 Ram 5.7. The adapters are billet aluminum and the hoses are hydraulic spec with proper fittings. No barbs and hose clamps. The kit comes with everything to mount, included. I've been running mine for 40k so far and no drips. Be aware it is on the pricey side, for my piece of mind it's worth it.

A link to the kit you bought would help.
Any change in pressures when hot at idle and at cruise rpm

I used Derale parts and made up my own kit. I went with the single filter setup and as others have mentioned, my pressure and temp stayed the same. Definitely considering a dual filter, now that I’ve read here about the pressure increase and temperature drop.

This would be great since it's so hard to drain the oil where it is now. Does this void your warranty on engine?

If the engine blows up,you'd probably want to remove any remote oil filter set up you have installed before sending it to a dealer for warrenty. That's just common sense, lol.

Take a die grinder and carbide bit/cartridge roll etc,and smooth out as many sharp edges as you can get to.Sharp edges and oil flow don't go hand in hand :waytogo:
