Oil Filters - Is anyone using the WIX WL10290 instead of 57060 on the 6.4 l?

Hi all,
I just did the first oil change on my truck and got the WIX 57060 filter. I was surprised it was so small and looked for an alternate unit that was larger.

I couldn't find a larger filter, but I did find the WL10290 that has identical specs, but the pressure relief valve is set higher. 22 psi instead of 12 psi.

Both are same flow rating and same micron rating.

I use the royal purple 20-820 on my 6.4. There are several discussions here about the best filters.
I did see that one mentioned, but it says it only goes down to 25 microns. WIX goes to 20 microns. Also, I can't find mention of the the bypass pressure setting anywhere on the Royal Purple site?

Mopar SRT 05038041AA is a larger filter, that’s what I use.
I can't find any specs on this filter at the Mopar site. One of the things that concerns me is the micron rating. Back when I had my first gen Ram with the Magnum 360 engine, the bigger filter from the Viper would fit it, but wouldn't filter as fine a particle as the OEM WIX filter for the Magnum.

Do you want taller or wider for the filter?
Taller, the PFL 47045 fits (synthetic), FIL 7045 (Gold), SFL 37045 (silver) - napa part number
Wider the 57899XP fits.

Both have the correct thread pitch.

Fwiw, I'm currently using the AMSOIL EAO11 on my HEMI due to the Royal Purple 20-820 being unavailable at the time of my oci.

It's been said here in the RAMforum that the AMSOIL oil filter is a clone of the RP and both are very well made.

However, I did go back to AMSOIL's web site and there is info on the specs of their oil filters.

I found that the specs for the EAO11 oil filter bypass valve settings is 11-17 psi and filtration is 99% efficiency @ 20 microns.

My HEMI had a few dry starts at first, but is performing great now using the AMSOIL EAO11 oil filter/Red Line 5w/30 synthetic oil combo.

I recently purchased a couple Royal Purple 20-820's(available again) for future oci's and I most certainly will use them with confidence.

I use Fram Ultra as do many here.

Interesting that you note the relief valve PSI - NO ONE has discussed that aspect of filters.

Also, no one has discussed the MAX FLOW rating - I don't see that for the Fram.

FRAM Group testing of average filter efficiency of XG8A, XG3387A and XG4967 under ISO 4548-12 for particles greater than 20 microns.

The Fram Ultra is 9 - 15 PSI

Larger?

I think larger would have to mean the larger square inch of filter material. Do those specs give that info?
