I've got a 5th Gen 2022 2500 4x4 with the 6.4 Hemi. For the most part it's stock, the only things being done are the muffler "delete" from the Cat's back and relocating the oil filter. I relocated it from the "stock location" to below the radiator and behind the bumper. I've received several "cautions" from other MOPAR individuals that by relocating the oil filter, I've lowered the Oil Pressure. Before I changed the configuration the oil pressure was around 54 PSI; now it's about 10 less (43 - 45 PSI). My question is - If so, how? Increasing the oil needed when I change the oil I get, but lower the Oil Pressure? Any insight on this will be appreciated. Thanks

You still using the same filter? What size lines? What oil relocation block are you using? There could be so many variables also need to look into minimum oil pressure spec see what that says.

Put the filter back where it was. What did you think you were gaining by moving it in the first place? Moving it changes the oil flow so not hard to believe it changes pressure. Losing 10 lbs at higher revs is bad enough, dropping 10 to 15 psi at idle is really no beuno.

I've got a secondary oil cooler, I don't trust the plate and fin ones that leak coolant and oil I pitched that before I did the 6.4 swap. Im running a sandwich plate with thermostat in it and a large cooler up front and running down the highway with the thermostat full open (flow through cooler) I'm still 66-70psi oil pressure. 55 at idle. I'd say if Ur using a generic goofy chrome system that's made in China you're gonna have issues. I recommend something like this if the restriction is the plate. I've seen guys run a good quality system and not have any oil pressure sure drop. It just depends what and how u have it plumbed. https://www.improvedracing.com/remote-oil-filter-take-off-adapter-plate-env-164.html

@Brandon-w exactly what I put on my 24 warlock. No pressure drop, 10AN lines and fittings used the improved racing remote oil filter housing as well. 53 psi at speed on warm oil. Idle psi is 42 at factory idle of 550 rpms.

Remote oil filter should not impact pressure if done correctly.

Exactly! Thank you! There has to be a restriction in there somewhere. Improved racing makes me great quality stuff too.

Let me guess ,you used the ****** PacBrake kit, throw that pile of crap in the garbage,it has to many 90's and sharp edges, and lots of guys are reporting pressure drops utilizing it.

What’s the point in moving it anyway? Unless you are racing it and need a cooler, why mess with stock? Seems like an invitation for warranty problems.
