Pic below...

I bought this truck recently, 2006 with the 5.7 and the oil pressure gauge didn't work. I received paperwork showing a mechanic tested the oil pressure and it was reading 30-60psi so everything was good.

I replaced the sensor, three wire plug down by the oil filter. No changes. Still not working. My question is, how do I trick the actual GAUGE in the dash using voltage to show that it has pressure just to check that the actual gauge works so I can narrow down my search for the problem? Can I jump two of the sensor wires together? If so, which ones?

How did the mechanic read the Psi of the oil?, you need to install a mechanical gauge, remove the oil pressure switch you just installed and replace it with a brass fitting that comes with the gauge kit.

I don't know how he specifically checked it.

Hang on, if he has the wrong or a bad sender, or faulty sender wiring wouldn't he get all of those same codes?

This is for an 05.

OPERATION
The oil pressure sensor uses three circuits. They
are:
² A 5 volt power supply from the Powertrain Control
Module (PCM)
² A sensor ground through the PCM’s sensor
return
² A signal to the PCM relating to engine oil pressure
The oil pressure sensor has a 3 wire electrical
function very much like the Manifold Absolute Pressure
(MAP) sensor. Meaning different pressures
relate to different output voltages.
A 5 volt supply is sent to the sensor from the PCM
to power up the sensor. The sensor returns a voltage
signal back to the PCM relating to engine oil pressure.
This signal is then transferred (bussed) to the
instrument panel on either a CCD or PCI bus circuit
(depending on vehicle line) to operate the oil pressure
gauge and the check gauges lamp. Ground for the
sensor is provided by the PCM through a low-noise
sensor return.

I couldn't find the connector pin out in the manual, but one of them should be 5 volts.

Check pin one on the sensor connector, there should be 5VDC. The 1521 code is a secondary code that came because of other two.
